    Profile: Tsim Sha Tsui

    Profile: Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui in southern Kowloon is a shopper’s paradise. Meander along Nathan Road’s “golden mile” to find a colorful and chaotic mix of glitzy jewelry, snazzy electronics, international name-brand stores, and Asian street-label boutiques mingled with enticing flavors wafting from the area’s many ethnic restaurants.

When you’re ready for a break from the hustle and bustle, take a stroll along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. You’ll pass the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Hong Kong Space Museum along the way, as you drink in breathtaking views of the Hong Kong Island skyline towering above Victoria Harbour.

A beautiful elegant hotel with brilliant service and friendly staff. This was my second stay en-route to the UK and Europe and I will never stay any where else in Hong Kong. One of the best hotels in the world! My rating of your eco-friendliness question relates to your insistence on changing the bathroom towels every day for a two day stay! This is ridiculous and completely unnecessary wasting water, energy and soap. This is despite me leaving your bedroom note prominently displayed which stated that if I did NOT want my towels changed to hang them up rather than leaving them in the bath! You need to instruct the housekeeping staff that it is NOT necessary to change the towels (or bed linen) for a short term stay! Also, you might like to consider introducing pump action REFILLABLE soap dispensers in the shower and on the hand basin to avoid the wasteful throwaway small pieces of wrapped soap. Importantly, if you wish to save the orangutan, Sumatran tiger and our rain forests from extinction please do some research and do not purchase soaps including liquid soaps containing palm oil or derivatives. Palm oil free soaps are available but will need a bit of effort to source and supply. Thank you for a wonderful stay, albeit too short. John Young Melbourne, Australia
