1st stay at Madera Hotel
Bad: Hotel was located in a side street and cars were parked along it. If it rains, you will need an umbrella while struggling with your luggage out from the cab. Please note that the free Airport Express shuttle bus service has been terminated. What a shame! Surrounding environment not really to our liking. Found a small cockroach in the toilet. Sigh... Very expensive for such a small space though it was a premium suite with 2 bedrooms. Living room space was pathetically small. Only a 3 seaters sofa and a small side table were provided. Did not have dining table and chairs for having our packed food. No cutleries provided. Got to request for them. No kitchen sink provided. Use the only sink in the toilet. One toilet only. And the shower head sucks! Got to twist the tube left and right each time before the shower head can aim at you. Got to stand in the narrow bathtub for showering. You either hit the wall or the shower screen. Curtains were not working well. Noisy aircon. Food smell from other rooms through the aircon. Good: Hotel staff were nice and helpful. Good quality toilet rolls and tissue papers provided. Welcome gift was a bottle of red wine, 2 pcs of smoked beef, 2 pcs of donuts, 2 pcs of cheese and 2 pcs of crackers. Everything else is so so.

The front desk service staff were attentive, polite and exemplary as required in service industry. Front desk staff helped us to hail a cab when we depart, were helpful in managing our luggages to the vehicle as well. However, that cannot be spoke the same for staff at the rooftop bar at horizon lounge. We visited on 18th May 2023 around 830-9pm. The first sentence that came out of their mouth is not to greet customers but this “Do you want to drink or are you here to see the rooftop.” So if you do not want to have an angry experience, pls don’t go to the lounge. Keep it to the service staff at front desk.

Concierge staff were amazing & friendly. Speaks fluent English. Rooms were huge with amazing amenities, free mini bar & some with great view. This is the only Hotel that offers a "Night Light" that is under the bed that really helps visibility at night instead of complete darkness. I sleep very light and have difficulties with sleeping bright, but this is perfect. One down side is that there are not many dining around the area and have to walk about 5-10 mins.
