Lovely hotel
Had a lovely stay the hotel was spotless the housekeepers knocked on your door every morning asking if you wanted your room cleaning. Lovely helpful staff, the hotel was lovely we would definitely go back. The only thing i wouldnt get again is the breakfast we paid £36 for 2 of us which for what we got was expensive, theres plenty of cheaper nice places to eat in york so would go out next time. We will definitely come again though.

Lacking.
It was okay. The staff were very nice, but the room lacked in cleanliness and some facilities were faulty. There was also a great deal of noise coming from the lift which was directly behind the head board. Blinds didn’t open, carpets and curtains were stained. Bedding was unclean.

Noisy stay
We had a 2 night stay in a Minster View Suite however our stay was hampered by noise . There was a large wedding on and we could hear the disco until 12am then were woken 7.30am both mornings by children running wild in the room above. Not the relaxing special wedding anniversary break we wanted. Room was ok and comfortable

Don’t bother
This was supposed to be a pre-Xmas family treat; but turned out to be a huge disappointment from start to finish. We had a mixture of great and downright rude staff, a tiny poky room that was so dark & dim it felt a bit like a cell, and ended up calling it a day & checking out early. If you only need somewhere convenient to sleep near the station then stay here, if you want any degree of luxury then stay elsewhere.

Lovely hotel but poor nights sleep
Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. However our room was located on the bottom floor of the hotel so felt very separate. The air con unit in our room made the most annoying buzzing sound all night which kept us up most of the night. Bed was not the comfiest, being 6 months pregnant not much is comfy at the moment but this particular was not! It may be worth the hotel investing in some better quality pillows. Can’t fault the check in staff they were very lovely and polite - I feel like we were unlucky with our basement like room!!
