We walked from train station up the mountain with 4 kids and was a wonderful part of adventure. Taormina was buzzing! We loved the atmosphere and found some lovely places to eat. Recommend the cable car to beach, expensive but fun and Greco Theatre

Taormina is a picturesque, walkable, ancient beach town nestled in the cliffs on the sea. Go off-season for a calmer experience, but note that many of the restaurants and shops are either closed for the season or close early.

We went in October and the days were still very busy. We woke up one morning for sun rise at the castle and that was perfect, coupled with reaching Isola Bella before the crowds arrived

Taormina is very pretty. We had some great food. We loved the views. The Roman amphitheatre is amazing. The streets are full of lovely shops selling lovely things. Sadly we weren't in the mood for shopping. Driving in and out was tricky.

If you are okay with moving up and down steps, Taormina is a fantastic place to visit if you are in Sicily. It is built on the side of a mountain and so be prepared for steps, steps and more steps. We enjoyed our 3 nights in Taormina.

Taormina is very steep and walking can be tough. Unless you're in a beach hotel, the "bathing beaches" are limited but there are plenty of great restaurants and things to do. The shopping district is quaint and fun.

Do take the time to visit Isola Bella and definitely enjoy swimming amongst the little fish in the crystal ckear water straight off the beach.

Such a beautiful area set on the side of a hill so not so easy for walking. Enjoyed a boat cruise and the city's hop on hop off bus.

Beautiful town! Definitely visit the Teatro Antico and Villa Communal Park.
"Wonderful stay. Staff very friendly especially the breakfast host he remembered our coffee orders as soon as he saw us each morning. The beach club is wonderful and the valet parking super easy. Wonderful place in beautiful Taormina "
"This past visit July 2025 will mark our third consecutive summer stay at this gem of a hotel. We continue to enjoy the spacious accommodations and friendly staff. Like a sightly faded beauty, this 50 something year old hotel certainly can use an update , and we have been advised that is in progress. However you cannot beat the spaciousness and slightly faded grandeur of this beautiful property. The hotel is situated on what I believe to be one the ‘most’ gorgeous and picturesque of the entire Taormina area. The private grotto beach and pool areas are spectacular as is the view of Mount Etna from the buffet breakfast terrace. "
"Staff and personnel went above and beyond to ensure our stay was wonderful. They were helpful, making reservations, finding us a boat to take out for the day. Everything about this hotel is amazing. The rooms and the food were both beautiful! We will back soon!

"The most important from this property is the staff. Mr. Mario was always on top of everything, he is very professional on his duty. Super educated person and very kindly with my kids. His son was super friendly when we arrived late night too and super generous to help with the bags. The last on recepción very kind too and helpful to find me a spot to park calling from her cellphone. The staff for breakfast Ms Sylvia very kind and professional on her job, super friendly and attentive. Mateo also aware of everything. Very pleasant our stay here feels like home. 🏠 "
