Morgan’s Wonderland is an inclusive amusement park in San Antonio’s Northeast neighbourhood. A local family created the park for their daughter with special needs. Branded with the motto “Where Everyone Can Play”, the attractions are suitable and safe for all children, irrespective of age, disability or special need.

Exciting rides and play areas aren’t the only draws to the park. Guests can also enjoy live entertainment that celebrates inclusion, from interactive puppetry shows to hanging out with superheroes who turn “disabilities into super-abilities”. In summer, you can combine your visit with a stop at Morgan’s Inspiration Island, an inclusive water park.

Admission is free to visitors with special needs and severe disabilities. Entrance tickets for accompanying family members, caregivers and friends are inexpensive. So on your next family trip to San Antonio, plan to spend a day at Morgan’s Wonderland and enjoy a fun-filled, inclusive day out.

What are the highlights of Morgan’s Wonderland?

Morgan’s Wonderland is a unique theme park and the first of its kind in the world. Spread out over 25 acres, parents and their children can enjoy a host of fun rides, playgrounds, and gardens. At the Sensory Village, creative play lets kids use their imagination via imaginary shopping trips, simulated test drive and doing the weather forecast. The brightly-coloured Butterfly play area, with a rubberised surface, will have children climbing, swinging, and spinning in delight.

All of the attractions are custom-made to accommodate visitors in wheelchairs. Modified rides include the 1930s-style Wonderland Express train, the Off-Road Adventure in an all-terrain car, the Whirling Wonder Ferris wheel that offers excellent views, and the Carousel with specially-designed chariots that move up and down.

What else is there to do at Morgan’s Wonderland?

Morgan’s Wonderland is home to an 8-acre fishing lake. Jutting out into the lake is The Wharf, where you can enjoy catch-and-release fishing for catfish or bass and pilot remote-controlled pirate ships. Near The Wharf, on an island that’s accessible via a bridge, is a pirate-themed playground. The inclusive area includes masts, sails and other elements that inspire and engage kids’ imagination.

Want to imagine you’re at the beach? Head to the Sand Circle and build your very own sandcastle. Music makers can create their own compositions with an array of percussion instruments at the outdoor Music Garden. At Picnic Place, you can buy snacks or bring a picnic and enjoy it at the shaded seating area.
