The new African-American Museum is wonderful. Also, we took an excellent bus tour of the city, with driving and commentary provided by Allan (a New Jerseyite). Our favorite restaurant was Swamp Fox, with all the local specialties tastily prepared.

Charleston is a tourist friendly, booming college city on the water with magnificent historic homes, free bus service, tons of good restaurants, many upscale stores, museums, and parks and plantations that look like paintings by Monet. A must see!

Great, charming, southern town. We've been several times. It has a lot to do and see; especially for history buffs. The food is really great too. Be aware it is a tourist town, so prices reflect that. It can be crowded during the peak season too.

Charleston is a fabulous city! The food is amazing! Our food tour was great! Three nights was good, but if we'd had one more night, we would've taken the train to Savannah for the day. Really good place for a girls weekend!

City has a dark history, today it is beautiful and full of interesting places to see and things to do. Can easily fill 4 days. Don't miss the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier on the other side of the bay, use an Uber.

A beautiful and clean city that has taken great care in preserving its history! There is so much to do and enjoy in this city. The city has an extraordinary amount of dining options that are excellent!
"The Vendue made the money you spend on your room worth it in many ways. The staff communicates with you every day and offers additional perks such as a daily art tour, special tastings, glasses of champagne/prosecco, and milk and cookies each day. We used the complimentary bikes one day to explore the city and had a great time. Our room was cleaned every day and towels replaced at least once per day. The artwork in the hotel was fascinating and the location could not be better. We were right on the waterfront! You can walk to anything in the downtown area from the Vendue. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Charleston! "
"Loved the exposed brick throughout the property, in their various sitting areas and in our room itself. The Restoration had character with multiple areas to congregate. Their “library” offered wine and cheese with music in the background from a record player! The host who greeted us in the library was very personable and conversational. Our room was a suite with balcony and full kitchen. It was nicely decorated, very clean, and the couch in the sitting area was very comfortable. This hotel has a rooftop bar and a beautiful view of the city. They also offer complimentary rides to local shops and restaurants. Breakfast was delivered to our room, as part of our reservation, promptly before 8AM. I only wish it included coffee (I assumed it would) and that meant a walk to the coffee shop within the building which was not a problem at all. We would stay here again as it is conveniently located near King Street and all the shopping. The staff was exceptional, very pleasant, unhurried, and seemed to really enjoy their job of helping guests."
"The Emeline is located right in the heart of town but is very quiet. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially the concierge. The room was huge and had a comfortable sitting area in addition to the bedroom. The hotel is well managed and beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. "
"What a beautiful property! The lobby smells wonderful, like a Disney resort for those of you who understand. The staff were exemplary! We were absolutely well taken care of. We would absolutely return! 10/10!
The staff walked us up to our room and gave us a full tour, explaining everything. The patisserie was excellent as well! The hotel has complimentary umbrellas by the front door, which comes in handy for a pop up shower and some shade! The hotel was very conveniently located, within walking distance of almost everything.
I only have a few things of note. First, our view was of the building next door. Nothing to see. (Room 541) Second, everything is expensive. Most cocktails in restaurants are about $16, but in the hotel most are $21. But they are very good cocktails with a very lovely environment to sit and relax. Third, parking is expensive! They charge more than Disney. Also, the pool is lovely, but it is small, accommodating only about 24 people unless you want to stand in the pool or pay extra for a very expensive cabana. Go early, before 11 to get a seat. We tried to go another time and every single seat was taken. Finally, the staff door on the fifth floor is loud, and the staff repeatedly let the door slam over and over and over, early and late. "
