We went to enjoy the boats on the river at Christmas. It was great. Visitors should be aware to dress very warmly for this treat. I was able to buy a blanket for my daughter to use on the boat. We ate in the park; a simple but delicious sandwich.

We went to Guadalupe Mountain Brewing Company for dinner. It was PACKED! The drinks were good but unfortunately we waited 45 minutes for a salad and pretzel. We also went to Milton's Brewing and they had some live music which was very nice.

The caverns are a must-see, but if you're there at the right time, be sure you experience seeing the bats leave the cave at dusk!! It was an incredible experience I'll never forget!

Carlsbad was great for what we came for. Our main plans were to visit the Caverns and check out Sitting Bull Falls, which we did and it worked out great! We did wish the city had a little bit more of night life but Buffalo Wild Wings sufficed.

Carlsbad has changed a lot in 30 years. You'll see all the oil rigs working all around Carlsbad. The town has definitely grown, but the friendliness and care of the residence hasn't changed. You always find a friendly face and a helpful direction
