Fantastic location, with a modern clean look
We couldn't have asked for a better Hosts, friendly and helpful. Our room was fresh and modern. And the location couldn't have been better, right in the centre overlooking the plaza and church. I would recommend it to anyone of our friends who are visiting Competa, a beautiful white hillside village.

What a fantastic whirlwind visit to Competa and how lucky that I came across Almijara on an online booking service. Maurice was a kind, knowledgable and gracious host, honestly nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely, modern furnishings, spacious shower with very good pressure. The atmosphere from the plaza below so relaxed, delicious breakfast on the roof terrace with breathtaking views. I'm waxing lyrical here I know, it was that good, and no, I'm neither related to them nor taking any favour by sharing with everyone what a super stay I had. Thank you to Maurice and the Almijara team.

Magical experience
The residence is just above the main square and from the terrace has fantastic views of the town and countryside. The breakfast is served on the terrace and it’s a joy to eat in such an ambience. When I was there the swifts were rushing around the town; great to see. The superb breakfast introduced me to things I hadn’t tried before and enhanced the experience overall. Highly recommended.

Fabulous stay
Fab 2 nights in clean, modernised hotel overlooking the main square. Our host, Maurice, is such a gentleman! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Our breakfast was included and each morning we were presented with a different menu consisting of fresh orange juice, coffee as requested, cereal with fresh fruit and yoghurt, a main course and little pastry to finish and all served on the lovely roof terrace which also had an honesty bar, which we made use of in the evening. The complimentary local wine and almonds in the room was so thoughtful. Loved our stay and Competa is beautiful and everyone so friendly.

Super godt lille hotel/B&B i Cómpeta
Vi overnattede 5 nætter. Ankom efter midnat, men havde inden fået meget fine instruktioner fra Maurice, som også var vores vært under opholdet. Maurice var meget imødekommende og hjalp os med vandreruter, restauranter m.m. Vi nød den frisklavede morgenmad på tagterassen - selvom det godt kunne være lidt koldt på denne årstid (oktober). Hver dag fik vi 2 nye retter, som var tilstrækkeligt til en god start på en (halv) dags vandring i bjergene. Almijara Residence er et meget lille "hotel" med kun 4 værelser, men alt fungerer bare. Værelse 201 på 2. sal har fin udsigt over torvet og bjergene. Vi kan varmt anbefale Almijara Residence.

Centralt läge i mysig by. Incheckningsproceduren omständig. Sängen liten men skön. Rummet rent och fräscht men iskallt. Rummet saknade fönster vilket inte framgick. Mer bumkerkänsla som inte motsvarade 3,5 stjärnigt hotell trots gratis netflix. Trevlig takterrass med fin utsikt. Baren help your self vilket var mycket trevligt. Frukosten var god men sparsam och näringsfattig. Ingen frukt, inga grönsaker eller långsamma kolhydrater. Ingen mat för oss som vandrar.

As others have said - exceptional!
One of the best places we have ever stayed! Everything is so well considered and the service is second to none. From the efficient check-in, carrying our bags to the room, the complimentary little carafe of sweet local wine (topped up daily) with accompanying almonds, a quick appraisal of the local area with restaurant recommendations and suggested walks, the fantastic rooftop bar and terrace area complete with honesty box that looks across the central plaza to the church, the fantastic and very different breakfasts served up fresh each morning on the roof, the fabulous decoration and design (quite modern and minimalist but with flashes of colour and pieces that reflect Maurice's homeland), having Netflix available in the room (not that we needed it), to the engaging conversations we had with Maurice - we had a truly lovely time and could not fault anything! The guys have really put a lot of effort into considering how best their guests might enjoy their stay and they've done a fantastic job! If you're ever considering a stay in Cómpeta you should seriously consider staying at the Almijara Residence! Thank you Maurice for such a lovely stay.

3 totally wonderful nights at Almijara. The owners are available for questions and incredibly helpful. Great location on the plaza makes this a fantastic home base. The breakfasts on the terrace are fantastic.
