Convenient to sightseeing and the city tram
Really liked the hotel and would stay there again. My only criticism is that there are very very few electrical outlets in the room (2) and none of them near the bed so using my portable devices while they were charging was not an option. I would bring a power outlet next time.

Great location
I booked 2 rooms facing Kumamoto Castle and we stayed in level 4. Unfortunately, the Kumamoto Castle is still under restoration. The location is great but the hotel is bit old. We need to pay ¥900 for parking overnight.

Kumamoto Castle Hotel
Kumamoto Castle Hotel is an upscale hotel across from the Kumamoto Castle. The hotel staff provided great service and hospitality. Our western style hotel room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast provided is a set menu of either Japanese or Western style breakfast. The breakfast was delicious but portions are a bit small for individuals with a large appetites. There are many great restaurants and shops in close proximity to the hotel. The trolley system provides ecomonical and convenient transportation between the hotel and Kumamoto train station for 170 yen per person, one-way. Trolley stops are a close walk from the hotel. If you are looking for an upscale hotel, check out Kumamoto Castle Hotel.
