This is the 3 rd time we have stayed at the Wild Boar and we decided to Upgrade our room this time . Unfortunately the shower had not be cleaned and had cobwebs hanging from It clearly Indicating it had not been cleaned throughly for some time . All staff were friendly and the meals are fantastic unfortunately the standard of cleanliness of the shower somewhat tarnished the stay as the room upgrade was significantly more expensive than the standard rooms.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Great rooms and bar/ restaurant area. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The fact that there was a beautiful woodland walk from the hotel was a bonus. Will definitely be returning.

6/10 Good

Very nice hotel and breakfast. All staff very friendly. Only thing is we had to pay a charge for parking (£12) as we booked with Tesco Club card, charge service charge for drinks and they added a £1 donation for plant a tree. It would be nice if you were asked if you wanted to contribute before adding it to your bill.

Great Stay with our dog
We had another wonderful overnight stay here and brought our dog this time. He was welcomed and there was even a dog goody bag in the room! All staff members were very polite and we were made to feel welcome.

Amazing food.
The Food was amazing! Staff were excellent and the kitchen adjusted meals for my husband who can't eat dairy. They even created him a special dessert. The room was large and comfortable.

Nice little Inn
Really nice little inn, service was good. The extra charges I thought were a bit overpriced. £30 per day per dog was £120 for us but the worst charge was the £15 per day for parking. There is no option as it’s quite out of the way and there is other option. It goes as a 5 star - not sure about that. We had a double bed which is really small maybe we are used to a bigger bed, so was not that comfortable and there was mould in the shower, which is an easy fix.

Lovely hôtel - perfect for Lake Windermere. Facilities in the hotel are great: there are even wellingtons you can borrow to do a woodland walk. The restaurant is fantastic with high quality food. The lounge and reception area have wonderful open fires which make it feel really cosy. Our feature room was fantastic and roomy.

Comfy, cosy and great food
Great stay, high quality food, comfy beds. Parking is additional cost £12 as is a dog staying £30, both we thought was high. We dined in the bar area, food was brilliant but think the lighting could be dimmed in the evening to create more ambiance.

Very nice but staff…
Very nice hotel although aspects are due for update. Comfortable rooms and dining space. Excellent breakfast choice and quality. Staff are very distant however - no smiles, no pleasantries and they generally don’t seem to like to be bothered. All staff appear like this.

Beautiful hotel
Very friendly welcome staff, beautiful hotel. Food and drink high quality but is on the pricey side and we had a leaky tap in our bathroom but all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Anniversary weekend away
Hotel room was really nice and spacious. Friendly staff and helpful. Large carpark for your stay but no electrical ports for electric vehicles so not that eco friendly. On check out after a 2 night stay had to pay £12 parking fee even though there’s no alternative as your in the middle of the countryside so seems rather cheeky, also £1 to plant a tree, I didn’t plant a tree and then £12 service charge, this on top of the hotel cost and the parking fees. Restaurant food was very nice but not alit of choice so went into Windermere in our second night,
