Great hotel, as long as there is no tour coach
Upon arriving I was disappointed that I had to pay £5 to park my car overnight. Check in was quick process. Made a reservation for the evening in the restaurant and due to a tour had to have dinner after 8.30. Looked at menu online and made my choice of what to have. Arrived at restaurant for my booking to be given an A4 piece of paper with what could be described as a “bar menu” to choose from. Bar 3 other tables the rest of the restaurant all had the full menus to choose from which was really disappointing, especially the cost of room along with the bar drinks I was very disappointed to be informed this by the waiter.

Overall very disappointing service 😕
Must say Hotel and Reception welcome staff were lovely but we were not informed before arriving at 7.30pm that restaurant was full and closed at 8.30 because only 2 serving staff were available, but we could order bar food from the same menu and served by same 2 serving staff ?. Only vegetarian option was risotto and rice was not fully cooked. Breakfast was absolute shambles, waited to be seated for 5 minutes but no one came so just had to find a table that been cleared from last guests, had to join queue for coffee cups as none were available, complained to staff as no bacon, scrambled eggs (was 1 fried egg left), no mushrooms left, when eventually food was replenished had to wait as plates were gone !!!, very disappointing service 😞

Won’t stay here again
I arrived slightly later than planned so popped up to my room to drop my bags off and then went down to have dinner. Hanging over the shower rail in the bathroom was a very dirty bathmat, which I reported to reception. It didn’t inspire confidence in me with regards to the cleanliness of the rest of the room. There were a few hairs in the bath also. The wall around the window in the room looked like it was rotting/falling apart. The receptionist was very apologetic and brought a clean bathmat. In the restaurant I ordered calamari and the burger. The calamari was nice, the portion could’ve been a little bigger to fill the dish it was served in. I was then brought ‘beef bourguignon’ rather than a burger. I was a bit surprised and then it dawned on me that the waiter must have heard bourguignon rather than burger. Instead of offering to change it he said ‘this is better’, it was nearly 9pm at this point so I didn’t make a fuss and just ate it as I was hungry. It was very nice but clearly not what I had ordered. There was a long wait to ask for dessert and then for the bill. I got up and stood by the till for a while and two members of staff walked over and said they couldn’t do bills and would get somebody else. There weren’t that many people in the restaurant but everything seemed to take an age. The supervisor in the restaurant was very pleasant however. I went for breakfast just before 8am and half the dishes were empty, refills were slow. Very disappointing.

Excellent breakfast, beware of parking cost
Value for money. Choose the breakfast, it is the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel. Beware of parking. Cannot fathom why you would need to pay for parking at the price of the room and the area it is in. Rooms clean, beds were comfy for us (firm).

We had a lovely 2 night break . The staff are really lovely . Nothing too much trouble . The breakfast was excellent . Plenty to choose from and topped up constantly . We had an evening meal one of the nights but was too impressed . I had lasagne and it was like out of a frozen pack and no taste . Shame as was looking forward to a nice meal. The rooms were spacious . The floors are really creaky which is a shame if you are on the ground floor. I tried creeping around but made no differance . The spar and pool were good too . Overall we had a good stay .
