Excellent and exceeded my expectations
My First interaction with host Onyinye was the highlight of my trip. This young lady was quite welcoming and highly professional. She attended to the needs of her guest promptly to ensure they had an enjoyable and memorable vacation. The Ivy Boutique Hotel is situated in an ideal location downtown Chicago. It is close to major attractions such as Navy Pier, Field museum, 360 Chicago, Art institute, Magnificent Mile and more. Of equal importance, great restaurants for dining are right at your fingertips. I read other positive reviews before coming here and this hotel exceeded my expectations. This hotel is clean and well maintained, quite fancy, and the bedding supports the perfect sleep. I will definitely return and stay here again. A bang for the buck.

Good 6.0
Could have been good- but too darn cold.
This hotel is very modern and should have been a really nice place to stay, except that the room was freezing and the "living room" portion of the suite never really warmed up. I stayed from Friday to Sunday. Friday was a very cold day, but that doesn't explain how the hotel let the room get freezing (The thermostat was not set on "heat" and it took a staff member to fix that.) and then after setting it to 83 degrees it took till the following day until the bedroom was about 75. Also, the lobby and bar area were freezing, apparently because both sets of door open at the same time, letting cold air freeze the place. There is a lot to like, nice bathroom, great location, friendly and attentive staff, but the cold overrode all that. Also, the living room could use a light that actually allows you to read without sitting at the desk.

Just Okay but not enough
The rooms are clean but for a suite king I was expecting more. There are no views to the city whatsoever only a view to a wall. The location is great though but the hotel is just not impressive enough

Chicago Boutique Hotel
Hotel was in a great area within easy walking distance to Michigan Ave, bars and restaurants. Staff was friendly however seemed understaffed. We had to ask for toilet paper on one occasion, soap for the bathroom and towels two times. There is not an ice maker on any floor but the reception desk, and the one night they were out of ice buckets. I have never stayed at a hotel where I have had to ask for that many things. The rooms are a great size and very comfortable.
