Clean room but cold. food excellent . Dining area needs some light background music to lighten the mood as it is like sitting in a doctors surgery

Decent Small Village Pub
A decent small village pub right on the 2-Moors Way. They stock a reasonable range of home-cooked food, a variety of locally brewed beers (eg. Dartmoor & Bay), plus a massive variety of whiskies. The top floor 'suite' has sharply sloping ceilings, so take care if you are up there! We had a peek in the other rooms whilst there too, which are all very nice.

Lovely place
The access road is very narrow, single lane for a long time. I probably wouldn't have gone if I'd known as I was just after somewhere to sleep for one night. Once there it was lovely though and the bed was very comfy. Beautiful surroundings, lovely host. Very quiet. Everything you want from a place to sleep for the night.

Great hosts and a great location
Kevin and Sue are the perfect hosts. The pub is ideally located both for walkers and other visitors to Dartmoor. I was walking the Two Moors Way with a friend. Kevin welcomed us at the door and we were instantly at home. Our room was spacious, clean with very comfortable beds. Power shower took a little adjusting but was fine when mastered. Food was good and beer was excellent. Location was very good, actually on the trail.

An excellent property in a delightful location
I was greeted with a very courteous and friendly welcome and shown to a very clean and comfortable room. I enjoyed an excellent home cooked meal in the evening in the dining room with panoramic views over the Dartmoor countryside. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that my stay was as pleasurable as possible, should the need arise to work in this area again I would not hesitate to return.

We have stopped overnight at the Tradesmans arms in Scorriton before and have not been disappointed. The location is isolated in a delightful small village with stunning views. The accommodation, food and hospitality is really good. The atmosphere created by the many local residents when the pub is open supporting the business says it all.
