Camino Hotel
Just steps off the Camino de Santiago. Excellent place for peregrinos to take a rest day. Several restaurants adjacent or very close. Templar Castle two blocks away Good neighborhood in the old part of the city. There are two Aroi hotels in Ponferrada. This is the smaller of the two and my personal favorite

Ponferrada
You cannot drive up to the front of this hotel so your GPS may be very confused -- it is situated in a plaza and parking is in an underground facility for a cost or free public parking two blocks away. You must park and walk the distance and if you use the underground parking you must take bags up stairs as there is no elevator. The hotel is pleasant enough but noisy from the plaza patrons, the neighboring hotel guests, the morning street sweeping, and the church bells 8am-11pm. The room however is clean and spacious and the staff is personable. The location to the historic center can't be beat; all is within walking distance as are plenty of eateries.

Rest day on the El Camino de Santiago
My wife and I needed a rest day in Ponferrada and this hotel was perfect, right in old town , near the tourist attractions. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Our room was new, big, and cute, lots of stone accents.

Well located
The hotel was good, staff friendly, room neat and comfortable. You can save the parking fee if you park at the public parking lot just a few steps further than the private parking, this parking lot is safe for your car. From the hotel, you can go walking to visit the "Castillo de los Templarios" and there are many restaurants around.

Conveniently located.
A good hotel in the main square close by the Old Town. I enjoyed a comfortable stay and ate dinner and breakfast in the La Taberna restaurant in the basement which offered a good choice. Anything in the town that doesn't move has been graffitied which is a shame.
