Absolutely lovely welcome. Warm friendly staff. Great food - good choice of menu (we are vegetarian pescatarian and there were plenty of choices. Well cooked/presented food. Chatty, friendly, personable staff. Cosy pub atmosphere. Loved our visit. Would definitely recommend!

Friendly and great location
Charming pub and hotel, incredibly genuine friendly people running it who made the experience great. Nice parking tucked away at the back and bustling nice pub inside! Room was nice, but missing some attention to detail which sort of took away from the stay - remote was cracked and old but still worked, shower was cold and heating in room wasn't on in late October. Corridor nice and warm, and thermostat had a lock over it so couldn't change that. Still recommend it, the hospitality of the owners / managers made the trip!

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fresh but the bathroom could do with an upgrade. The second window in the room would need to be double glazed to try and block some of the traffic noise. Please not a cooked breakfast is not included in the room price. For a night stop over perfectly ok and a very reasonable price.

Friendly and functional
The Blacksmith's Arms is a nice clean value for money pub with rooms. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. The ensuite was small with a cracked tile on the shower floor but again clean and everything worked fine. Our landlady was friendly, welcoming and helpful, and our continental breakfast the following morning was perfectly reasonable. Despite its situation by a roundabout we were not disturbed by traffic noise overnight. Overall, we found the Blacksmith' s Arms excellent value for money for people who just want a clean and cheerful overnight stay.

Village pub experience
We were looking for an authentic village pub experience. We got it. Probably wouldn't go back.

We were unlucky enough to choose a time when the kitchen was closed in the mornings for a refurb. A continental breakfast was supplied to your room, but no fresh coffee was available.

Location fine. Welcome fine. Ambience of pub/restaurant fine. Pub meals ok. Rooms basic but clean which I can live with as I don’t spend much time in the room although pillows were too thin for a comfy night, in my opinion. Major let down though was the breakfast….I knew when I booked it was “continental” but meagre, long-life, high sugar, inedible offerings in a brown paper bag left outside your room? You could live with that for one night if you were passing through, but not for the four nights I stayed. I just kinda felt cheated. I am sure with a rethink on the breakfast front, they could so improve the experience.

Lovely pub / B&B - I'll stay again!!!
Very, very warm welcome, nice room (basic, but nicely done and comfortable), great menu for evening meals and a genuinely freshly-cooked and plentiful full-English for breakfast. Will stay again!!! Things to note: Ask for a room away from the road if traffic is a bother, and you will need to be able to manage stairs.

Only stayed one night and left early so missed the included breakfast. Staff arranged at to go breakfast pack which was appreciated. Beds comfy. Rooms were small but that was to be expected We stayed a Sunday night and unfortunately the pub closed at 6pm. Had to go to a nearly pub for dinner.
