For those who like to be up and out early, be aware that there is no coffee or coffee makers and no refrigerators in the rooms, and nothing available until 7 am. So bring your own coffee and breakfast. The staff attitude was generally gruff, as if they were overworked, with a few friendly exceptions. Some of the dishes at the restaurant were good, others bad. You might also want to bring your own soap, as the bars provided were the most meager I have ever seen and provided almost no suds. The most wonderful thing about the property, however, was the fountain/water feature located among the cabins, which attracted large numbers of birds throughout the day. Thus, if you're a birder (which I am) I would highly recommend a visit. You can sit in the shade under a gazebo and watch. We saw about 30 species, including mountain specialties such as Williamson's Sapsucker, Clark's Nutcracker, Grace's Warbler, Evening Grosbeak, and many others. Several Kaibab Squirrels also visited.
