The property itself is beautiful. It makes you feel like you are in colonial times. Our room was just up the stairs from the reception and it had a beautiful view with a small balcony to see the plaza. If you stay here don't miss the opportunity to go up to the rofftop. You will get the best view from El Pipila, the U of G building and the Basilica, plus the gorgeous views with all the colorful homes. The only thing it was hard to deal with was the night life. There were two mariacho bands, one norteño group, and one banda group ALL pkaying at the same time until 1am. This os obviously outside the control of the hotel, BUT just know it does get loud at night. I think I ended up hating most songs going forward 😅😅. Because we had the first room going up the stairs, the life of the hotel begins at 7am with staff getting ready for the day, so I could hear at 7am the phone ringing, dishes being moved and the tables being arrange. If you are able to overlook this part, then the experience will be amazing. Everything is within walking distance and the breakfast at the hotel was delicious. They were very accomodating with a special item I had and they took care of it until I left the hotel to head to the airport. We will be back and stay again in there again.

The hotel is historic and quite charming. It’s on the main pedestrian square, pretty gardens, beautiful colonial buildings, shops and restaurants. The square is very lively, it’s easy to get a city tour from there, music all the time, so can get a bit noisy at night until the wee hours. We had a room overlooking the square with a Paris balcony, but it had solid glass doors and wooden shutters, and a good AC so we didn’t lose sleep. The inner rooms would be quieter but would not be as interesting!

Nice hotel at the heart of Guanajuato. The location is at the central square and it had a great Mexican ambiance, full of people and music bands. Perhaps noisy for some but definitely Mexican.
