Dysfunctional technology
The initial pre-trip experience with Att was not positive: I hadn't received an email with details of the app you need to open the door (I booked via Hotels.com). So there seems to be some kind of comms gap between making a booking and receiving an email with the app. I had to send emails and call the hotel a few times etc. The app itself doesn't work every time you try to open the door - you find yourself standing outside your room wafting the phone at the door handle hopefully/forlornly. You have to have bluetooth on etc. Better to ask for a plastic card. The lighting in the room is very hard to work out - it seems automatic, but there isn't (or didn't seem to be) a master kill switch. The light switches are tiny with lots of different options and settings - very hard to make sense of. Getting up in the middle of the night, the lights come on brightly as you move around - whether you like it or not. A bit frustrating if you really don't want to be bathed in bright light at 3am. Then there's the elevator. The lift doesn't work to get you to the ground floor before 9am. Apparently its related to their being a bar in the lobby (which is a separate business). You have to walk around the corridor to get another elevator, then down stairs etc. and then get to another lift and a flight of stairs. It makes absolutely no sense! The breakfast is super limited - just croissants it appears. I think for my next trip to Oslo I'll stay elsewhere.

Oslo break.
Excellent location good size rooms. Very comfortable with good products in the room. Only negative is that we had an inner room and the windows do not open. We would definitely return but not to the same type of room.

Excellent stay
Comfortable, clean and tidy hotel. Although there's no reception staffs at the hotel, but during the opening hours of the bar at the lobby, you can find friendly and helpful staffs if you need assistance. The supply room is well stocked so there's no issue with weekly housekeeping. The location of the hotel is close to many attractions so you can easily walk to various places of interest, such as the National Museum, the Town Hall, the Akershus Castle etc.
