The Ultimate Room with a View
This place began to feel like home even though we were only there for one full day. The view from our room ... I know we will never have one as breathtaking! The pools were also perfection, and the property was gorgeous. I was worried at first because communication with staff before our arrival was confusing. Then, when we arrived with the ride arranged by the hotel, our room smelled very much of mildew. Luckily, we were able to turn the airpump on and set it to Dry so our room improved, but I very much wish someone had done that even a few hours before our arrival.

Noisy rooms, uncomfortable beds.
The Lost Iguana Hotel is in a great location to see the hanging bridges and walk in the national park. The rooms are tired and the beds are uncomfortable. The standard rooms have 2x 3/4 beds in them so a couple can't sleep comfortably together in one. The rooms are incredibly noisy, you won't sleep until the last person in your block has gone to bed, and you'll be up with the first person! The patio or balcony is a great spot to sit and look at the volcano (it was covered in mist our entire stay) and the wildlife. Breakfast was very good and in a lovely environment where you can watch the abundant bird life. However the waiters seem to reserve the best tables for particular guests so we ended up stuck at the back every morning, perhaps we weren't tipping enough! The hotel is on an extremely steep site which is difficult to negotiate unless you are very mobile. There is a shuttle bus you can call to take you to your parking, restaurant or pool.

Accommodating to food allergies
The property is beautiful. We enjoyed all of the wildlife we got to see from our room and the dinning area. The breakfast and dinner foods were really good but the lunch menu wasn’t great. The dinner staff was very helpful with my extremely restricted diet and made me a special potato. I’m gluten, dairy, and grain free so accommodating me wasn’t simple but they were really nice about it. The hotel is really really far from everything so I wouldn’t recommend going there without a car. We were only there for 2 days and just stayed on property/nearby hanging bridges but it would have been nice to have had the ability to drive into town or to the other hotels with thermal pools. The front desk said it would have been a $30 cab ride each way so we didn’t bother. Over all great stay with really nice people. also the view from our hotel room looked exactly like the view in the pictures which was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t have high expectations since our room wasn’t a fancy one.

It was fantastic—and I would definitely return! The resort was gorgeous, my room looked right out on the volcano, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the pool bar was a lot of fun. The resort is not too big—you almost feel that it is your private estate!

Amazing hotel!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Lost Iguana Inn. We were blown away by our room - the view was incredible and the room itself was gorgeous. There was even an outdoor shower which was awesome. I can see this room being perfect for a honeymooning couple. This was right near the hanging bridges so we could have easily walked. The staff was all super friendly and helpful, and the meals were great. We highly recommend this hotel. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Easily our favorite hotel during our stay in Costa Rica.

Lovely Setting
We loved almost everything about this place! The setting and the views were amazing, and the staff went out of their way to be very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Our only complaint is that our roof started to leak one night due to very heavy rain. It was just in one or two spots, so it didn't ruin anything, but it's definitely something they should get fixed ASAP.

Wonderful Staff in Nice Location
All of the staff were absolutely wonderful. From the front desk staff that helped us book tours to the porters that carted us around to everyone in the restaurant, they were always smiling and helpful. The pools and pool bar were great as well. The included breakfast contained mad-to-order omelets and fresh juices, fruits, breads and cereal. Our only problem were the bugs in the room. They were everywhere and we woke up every day with terrible bites. I understand it's a rain forest and I applied insect repellent for outings during the day but showered before going to bed and do not know what bit me in the bed (we had 2 Queen beds and slept separately). 8 days later and I still have several bites on my legs that are healing; my husband had bites on his hands and arms. The front desk brushed it off to "being in a rain forest." We did not experience this in the other 3 hotels we stayed in. Also, ask for an upper room in the cottages because the maids' begin work at 6:30 am on the ground floor and their walkie talkies woke us up every day and by 9:00 am they bang on the door to clean the room. Otherwise everything was wonderful. The Mistico Hanging Bridges is a 2-minute ride away but everything else is 30 minutes away. The property has a nice hour-long somewhat strenuous hiking trail too.

Generally loved the resort, but they did not fulfill my membership perks. We were promised a bottle of wine and 25% off spa treatments and did not get these.
