All good except for doorman and bellmen at arrival and departure , completely absent ! We carried our luggage and parked our car ! No one to greet , say goodbye or offered to help! Not acceptable for a 5 star hotel ! Also, because we arrived much earlier , our room was not ready, (which we expected already and were ok with it ) but we were told by reception check in clerk we would be notified by text or email when ready ! Had time to store our luggage with bellman , go out to town for lunch , visited the facilities , then came back and waited in lobby until 5 PM ! The message never came ! ! 1 hour past check-in time of 4:00 PM!
Then again had trouble getting my luggage back from bellman ( absent again ) who had given us a luggage claim coupon used usually for golfers , but we were not golfers ! Reception clerk took care of it ! It was clear to us that normal occasional travellers were not treated the same as the regular golf members! But that’s only our impression maybe ! However that’s still our impression ! Besides that, Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is a beautiful , historical building , with great views of sun rise over the Saint -Laurent River ! Our room was comfortable , clean and had a great view! Shower was a little weak ! No water in fridge upon arrival ! Didn’t feel like eating at hotel ! Local restaurants are excellent and overall it was a beautiful drive all around with river and mountains views and local villages !
