Great stay
Check-in was a little rough as the front staff are newly trained and do not know the hotel well. Nonetheless this was resolved and overall had a great stay. Staff are polite and location is perfect. The hotel is a little limited in terms of facilitates compared to other 5 stars. They take pride in their housekeeping service and rooms are overall clean, however found a piece broken glass and popcorn pieces as adjusting the couch.

The level of service is fantastic. From the moment of arrival till we left, we felt a very frindliness attitued from the entire hotel team. Our room was spacious and well equiped. The location in the center of St. Julian was very convient. The free parking was important in this area.

What is 5-Satr?
A very smart looking hotel, clean and well-maintained (apart from usual wear & tear [see later]). We arrived before check-in due to early flights, not a massive problem as the hotel held our luggage and there was a decent mall across the street. International travel, right? Rule No.1 (for me, anyway), is be patient and reasonable...we weren't the hotel's problem until we checked in, so managing our luggage was A-OK. We were allocated a room when checking-in but received a different room as the previous guests were still in it despite being asked to leave...no big deal, the relative location in the building was the same so the room was the same size. The subsequent room was 5-floors lower than our original. Clean, reasonably sized, air conditioned, reasonable storage space but we had to use suitcases for clothes as well. Not a problem as such and it’s clearly a balance between lots of furniture and space. How much furniture should a hotel room have? Two initial gripes; the self-closing sink-plug needed repairing, which was done swiftly, and the Nespresso machine was a bit faulty/ worn- capsules wouldn’t “mesh” and kept falling through. Also- no biscuits… If you've watched Gordon Ramsay or Alex Polizzi, the topic of 'what is 5-star' often comes up, and how this should be the 'same' across locations/ chains. So what is 5-star? Breakfast, food and drinks were good if over-priced. We had B&B which was ideal for the hot weather and the touristy days we enjoyed. Why overpriced?
