We were not disappointed with our stay at Scottish Inns in Cresson. The staff is very friendly, and you can tell they're trying to maintain an older hotel. Not doing a bad job at it for the most part. The common areas and our room were clean, if not showing some wear. The hotel is very dark, however. A little refresh to lighten everything up would do wonders. The bed was comfortable, but the TV was quite old.
Our other single complaint worth mentioning was the breakfast. We love that it starts early, but there were no protein options other than yogurt. Lots of bread, cereal, oatmeal, and we loved the Texas-shaped Belgian waffles, but no protein. It was pretty much an 80's-style "continental breakfast".
Also, there is NO pool. (There used to be one in the back, but it's filled with dirt and plants now.) We weren't planning on using it, but if we had kids and were counting on the pool as advertised in the listing, it would have been a problem.
