Museum Ship Averof
See a gigantic, undefeated battleship

The Museum Ship Averof is a floating naval museum where you can climb aboard a battleship that was once the crown jewel of the Greek Navy and explore naval history. This battleship served in both World Wars between 1910 and 1952. It saw the Balkan Wars and helped transport refugees in 1922. It's one of the only armoured cruisers in the entire world. It was once affectionately called Barba Yiorgis, or Papa George, in honour of its emotional significance to Greece.
