I just want to be made whole.
We flew from Pittsburgh to Orlando to spend some time with family for Christmas. We spent a considerable amount of time, searching the Internet and websites for hotels that had the amenities that we were looking for. Most of the hotel prices in the Ocala area were competitive and very close in price. After vetting multiple hotels, we settled on Hampton Inn and suites located at 2075 SW hwy 484, Ocala, Fl 34473. When pulling up to the property, we observed debris, machinery, clutter everywhere outside. Once we parked and made our way to the reception desk the environment did not improve. There were common hotel areas were closed n disarray; ripped apart with debris lying everywhere; sections of the hotel lobby roped off with dust and dirt everywhere. First impulse was to walk out and get another hotel but it was already 8 PM when we arrived. I asked the front desk attendant why were we not informed that your hotel was under construction? We should’ve been given the opportunity to make an informed decision about where we wanted to stay. The attendant snapped at me saying that hotels.cm should have known and told you. The next morning I spoke to hotels.com customer service and they said that they were not informed of the situation. Hotels.com promised that they would resolve my refund request within 72 hours. 72 hours came and went and no one contacted me. 24 hours later I received an email saying that they were still working on my concerns. My stay was December 22 - 27th
