2/10 Poor

Michel, our bell hop, was the the only redeeming quality. The room was damp, musty, the A/C poor, the bathroom ceiling was falling, the enamel on the tub was missing large chunks, the ventilation duct had mildew surrounding it, there was construction going on in the next unit with a hammer drill or grinder running for long periods, the window didn’t open properly, the “pool” was never open. They discontinued our room key early and when they “fixed” that by giving us a new card, the new new card did not work for the electricity. Oh, and the price was ridiculous. That about sums up our experience at Hotel Pobre.

Modern with old world elegance
This was my second time in Havana, and the Presidente is the only place I’d stay in the future. While it’s a modern hotel, it has a very vintage feel with the customer service and the staff uniforms. It’s a great location, close to the beach, great food. There’s just nothing bad to say about this hotel....ok, maybe too many cabs outside trying to take you on tours or to a cigar factory

you can do better
Room had funky smell. Location was good. Was visiting family and hotel staff would not let visiting family member up to my room - not to sleep, just to visit. Instead had to visit in the hotel lobby which afforded little privacy. I think Capri Hotel, in same general area, is supposed to be better.

6/10 Good

The property was once very good however It is now tatty around the edges and in great need of tender loving care. n our first room the shower did not work. In the suite which we original booked [1001 to which we were moved to after being given the wrong room ] the toilet in the living area did not always flush so one used a bucket of water to flush the toilet. the shower although working needed attention. the L.H elevator kept getting stuck on the 9th floor including with a member of staff..The Restaurant was good except Kitchen did not pay attention to detail of the 12 meals eaten 3 were sent back to the kitchen..the staff were excellent ,and helpful The bar and staff in the lobby were also excellent. One should remember this is Cuba were they have to make do and mend.I did speak to the GM about the care needed to bring the rooms more up to date, The pool and outside terrace were very good

It's an old property that needs updates, but that's Cuba. For the money, it' a good value. A good breakfast is included. It's a $15 cab to Old Havana.

Good but very dated
The hotel was old and dated. The staff are very helpful unless you wanted a beer after 7pm. It was a fair walk into havana but easy with taxis or coconuts ( tuk tuk). Well worth a visit

We’re glad we stayed here.
A great location away about a 30 minute sea side walk into Old Havana (which suited us as we were happy to visit but happy to be a little out of the busy area). There are amazing choices of restaurants (from cheap to expensive) just a short 5 min stroll away. We are glad that we stayed at Roc Presidente - it always felt as though we were experiencing Cuba (as opposed to some of the other more expensive hotels) - when a lobby is just like any other lobby - what’s the point? The pool was great to enjoy and relax by. A special mention to Boris, Michel and Francesco - who all went out of their way to book amazing restaurants or experiences for us. P.S it was for our honeymoon - and they spoiled us with a room upgrade and a surprise bottle of champagne and personal note.

High end for Havana
It was fine but no WiFi in room (even for purchase) only in lobby and the shower head was corroded, no water pressure and hot water not consistent.

This Hotel was the worst Hotel I have ever experience. We got move 4 to 4 different rooms due to the rooms not being in good condition. The first time the AC was broken, the second room the shower was broken, the third room the safe and bed broken and last room the lights and AC was not working. We had to stay there for the night and it was horrible. The next day we went to check out and they say we did not had any thing to pay they felt horrible too, but after we left and we were in the taxi the hotel manager Maritza V came out to get us saying we needed to pay some fees when minutes prier the front desk girls say we did not own anything. Everything was already pay by Expedia. Overall worst Hotel Ever. Very disappointed.
