Underwhelming
I have to say I was disappointed. This claims to be a 4.5 star hotel on this site but it is just a tidy budget hotel. There was no special treatment for being a gold VIP member on here. Meant to get an upgrade if available, staff admitted it was very quiet, but no upgrade. Rooms were super basic. Literally a couple of cheap mugs and glasses and poor quality tea etc. The walls have been poorly painted and it just felt like a cheap attempt at improving their vibe. Appreciate the time of year but rooms still not serviced at 5pm. Wifi never worked once while I stayed, always 'could not connect'. Best room is bathroom which has been well done. If I had got this as a 3 star I would be more than happy, but 4.5 star, no way. Great location. Parking expensive.

Good enough for rebooking
The room keys/card faled to work due to technology issues however the staff were able to provide suitable workarounds. Our room didnt have the hair dryer but that was less of an issue as the other room of our friend's had it for us to use. The biggest problem however was the lack of parking for our rental van for which we had to hunt for parking spaces off the street or nearby paid parkings and shed extra money. Overall it was a good experience with the best part being the location with access to so much in the CBD

Wedding Weekend
This stay was apart of my wedding weekend. I had booked many rooms so im unsure which room this review refers to. In room 911 the shower head was broken around the neck so didnt get a good pressure which for the price is not good. My grandparents in room 326 had requested to be on the 10th floor for the rooftop venue 2 weeks prior it was approved but when we arrived were told 326 and had sad no rooms were available on the day. My uncle and aunty were assigned floor 5 but the air con wasnt working in the room so were able to move to the 9th floor.
I also used room service which was fast, efficient and resonably priced.
Overall these are few negatives which the positives out weigh. The weekend was a success and i would be happy to hire this venue and stay here again.

Welcome was rushed and impersonal. No jug in room and took a number of phone calls to get one. TV did not work and despite 2 calls and a visit to reception no one came to look at it. Very poor service. Disappointing

Not a comfortable place
Two issues with this Rydges in Auckland: (1) room has mold smell. It may not have good airflow for a while. We had to keep a window open the whole time during our 4-day stay. Bathroom smell even stronger. (2) Rooftop lounge closed to guests due to a private event without notice. Hotel basically took away the amenities that guests paid for.

Not too bad
Nice comfy room with good bed. WiFi proved to be a massive letdown; should be a given that hotels have decent internet - especially at this price point

Didnt like dirty glasses and given back same dirty glass just wiped. Lightbulbs not working. No minibar but stated one in room. Was moved to another room and dealt with a lovely man raphael but still not even hamdwash. Ctazy noises when lights turned on and view of back of police area not a great outlook. Parking by the establishment stunk of urine and yuck. Upon arrival clerk grabbed my catd and charged me $100 wothout explanation, i had to ask why and found her quite rude and no.explanation of how to use lifts or what floor our room.on. was disappointed in experience especially when we dont go away often.
