Great hotel and good value for money

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Sadly, the breakfast was disappointing. The best part is the beautiful setting
Patricia, 2-night trip

Lovely location. Good service, great breakfast. Bed rather uncomfortable.
Ruth, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great setting, all staff very pleasant, the Restaurant was rustic and food good, table laid and clean although a little sticky. Room spacious and clean although entrance hall to Cottage area a bit worn. I would definitely visit again.

A reasonable place to stay

Room was spacious and comfortable. Let down by poor Wi-Fi coverage in room. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Nice quiet location next to the river.

Michael, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

We stayed for one night and was in the cottage rooms, which needs a revamp. The rooms look tired and there was a constant dripping sound! It really didnt feel like a 4 star hotel. On the plus side the staff were very helpful and friendly, we never had food so cant comment on that! If we stayed again we'd want to stay in the main hotel.
Joanna, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely location. Quiet cottage room. Furniture dated but very clean and everything one would expect : iron, safe and kettle. Comfy bed. Entrance to room smelt a little musty but room was warm and no damp. Tiny shower room- beautiful but would be a squeeze if one is not slim .

10/10 Exceptional

The Priest House is situated in beautiful settings. I often stop in the cottages as I find them convenient and comfortable.
Gabriele, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Property itself is in a fantastic location, and main house is very well maintained. The cottages are quite small, could do with a refurb. Tv in room kept losing channels and had to be reset. I'd l say the accomodation is overpriced.
Mark, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

I had a - 15 - cottages room, which considering I have stayed in this hotel many times and only in the house was poor. For the money and all I was disappointed. Room was musky, bed clean but poor mixed matches furniture, dodgy door, slippy entrance, and all the usually for an old building. 5/10. But I had had house rooms before 10/10! Breakfast was 8/10 Service was lovley however the taps even cold gave tepid / warm water. No water in the room and a promise of some to be brought over which wasn’t :-(

4/10 Fair

Allocated wrong room from what I booked, complained and the response was oh well. Very rude breakfast waitress, she should not be customer facing. Will not return.
Stuart, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Stayed 1 night for wedding, food was amazing at the wedding, the room we stayed in is outdated but was clean and comfortable, the cottage rooms are conveniently located short walk away. The staff were amazing and very helpful, even helped me look for my wife’s phone when she misplaced it overall really pleased with our overnight stay
Karl, 1-night trip

Place to stay near the arboretum

It is a lovely place to stay the hotel part is in a beautiful setting right on the river Trent the only thing that lets it down is the outside of the cottages accommodation. It is the need of some tlc paint work wood work needs looking at. The inside of the cottages are fine beds are comfy shower is good. Food in the hotel is good, breakfasts are very good help yourself. All said I would stay again.
Margaret, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

A fun and joyful stay

We stayed in the cottages next to the main hotel. Two of the group were in the ground floor units which unfortunately suffered from damp. The musty smell was overpowering at night especially as it was unwise to leave the windows open due to the water flies getting in from the river. We asked for the two rooms be changed to upper rooms on the second night which was done without question. The rooms generally were clean and the beds comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff team very attentive.
Linda, 3-night trip

Ok hotel

Ok stay. Too hot as no air con in room. Decor a bit tired. Staff excellent and good food.
Maree, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely hotel venue and grounds. Have stayed previously and room was excellent. Unfortunately this time was in one of cottage rooms which felt very dated and was in need of some attention.
janet, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Stayed for just one night but the staff were SO nice and the room was excellent - quiet, comfy bed etc. Breakfast was good and check in/out quick and easy. Very highly recommended.
Phil, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Perfectly located for inbetween stop off for us, location was perfect. No lift, no help offered with bags, rooms electronic sockets dangerous/broken, dirty fan, broken tiles etc in bathroom, shower screen not fitted so water floods out when showering. All said, im disabled, so all points to a disaster waiting to happen, and pillows very uncomfortable.
Cath, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

A pleasant setting and good quality rooms
Gabriele, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Historically very interesting hotel, friendly staff, good food. My only criticism is that the cottage we stayed in definitely needed some love!
Geoff, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Pet friendly and excellent accommodation.

We stayed in one of the cottages with our 2 dogs. These cottages are ideal if you have pets. This is our 2nd stay this year and will not be the last. The only downside is that the parking is a bit away from the cottages. There is 2 parking places for many cottages. We have a blue badge but can't be used. It is a fair walk with the luggage our dogs and their pet beds. But the room is very good and ideal for pets. The shower is probably the most powerful shower i have ever used.
