4/10 Fair
2 February 2025
Great breakfast. Front desk…not so much.
A group of us recently stayed a week in Bogotá, booking five rooms in total. Unfortunately, our experience fell short, and we will not be returning. Here's why:
1. Our room was next to the elevators, making it noisy with constant conversations and movement.
2. The blackout blinds didn’t work, allowing hotels across the street to have a clear view into our room for the entire 7-day stay, forcing us to change in the bathroom for privacy.
3. The A/C was broken throughout our stay, leaving the room incredibly warm as sunlight from nearby buildings reflected into the room.
4. The toilet seat was crooked, making it uncomfortable to use.
5. Despite informing Gabby at check-in that one of our rooms was extending its stay for one night and to charge the card on file, we were unexpectedly contacted on the final night at 10 p.m. to settle payment, even though we had already discussed it days earlier.
We have been to Bogota almost a dozen times and had chosen this hotel based on its positive reviews but these issues unfortunately impacted our stay.
The best part of this experience was Indira who was the most gracious waiter at the daily breakfast. The entire group loved her hospitality and willingness to help. We were sad when we could not see her our last day.
If you can exchange your room if you happen to get one near the elevators, my advice is, please do. It will significantly improve your experience… and possibly avoid the room we were staying in.
