When the beach is calling your name, you might want to head down to Black Beach in the heart of Vik I Myrdal. Enjoy the sunset by the shore at Black Sand Beach.
Black sand beaches stretch beneath towering basalt sea stacks at Reynisdrangar, where the Atlantic crashes with dramatic flair. Dyrhólaey's natural stone arch frames perfect views of the coastline, with summer visitors treated to comical puffins nesting on precarious cliffs. The nearby Hálsanefshellir Cave offers shelter from unpredictable Icelandic weather after beach explorations. This tiny village serves as the essential service hub along this stretch of southern coast. Locals live in the shadow of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, home to the formidable Katla volcano whose occasional rumbles remind everyone who's really in charge. Arrive in summer for puffin watching or winter for potential Northern Lights displays over the stark volcanic landscape.
My only comment was that the hotel staff wasnt very pleased as we were early. He, however, still facilitated our check in. We also late for half hour the next morning and missed our breakfast. Kitchen closed exactly on time. Otherwise, beautiful surround and relaxing environment.

The apartment is good size, convenient, supermarket and restaurants are across the street.
It will be even better to make known that the apartment is located level2 as we have big luggages.

A beautiful hotel in Vik. Perfect for northern lights viewing even though we didn't see any due to the bad weather. The room was clean and comfortable. Various shops are within walking distance.
