Definitely Pros and Cons
Definite Pros and Cons to this resort. Pros: location is great. The rooms are very nice. Big, soaking tub is fabulous. Views are lovely. Breakfast delivery is a nice touch. Lots of potential to be top notch. Cons: Room was not super clean. Still hairs in the tub. Something gross on the wall in two places. The service does not feel like a high end resort. (Aside from the breakfast delivery). The bedding is not impressive at all. Cotton pillows. Hard bed. Two sheets and a thin fleece blanket. They didn’t even put a comforter on the bed. Had to get one sent to the room. Tried to call to the front desk at least 6 times. No one answered. Walked there. Only one person at the desk and said sorry she was checking someone in. Put me on hold then? To just not answer the front desk phone seems strange. They do not service the rooms due to covid so if you need extra towels or anything you’ll have to request those. We were there for a special occasion and my friend tried to get us something nice delivered. Said it took many calls and two days to make it happen. Found out after meeting the couple in the room next to us they delivered the mimosas there at first. Seems very short staffed and disorganized. Sad because we wanted this to be our go to place but will definitely try other places in the area and hopefully the iron out the kinks.

The biggest JOKE, in resting
People were outside the office to register. We arrived at 4 p.m. the time to register but NO ROOMS were available due to house keeping. We didn't get our room til 6:30 pm.. The rooms were not clean correctly.. No comforter on beds. Just 2 sheets. Coffee cups dirty.. The sofa bed had stains, like old sofa bed.. I wouldn't sleep on it.. They were experts in saying we are sorry but I dont believe they knew what it meant.. We were told we were able to stay til 12 pm instead of 11 am.. That morning one of the workers came banging on the door advising us that check out was at 11 am.. Why were we still in the room.? I advised him to check with the front desk.. We were given permission by the front desk to stay an extra hour for checking in so late. Thought the police were there to throw us out.. Went to Carter Estate, to rest. But I left more stressed out.. Upset.. Being that I reserved my room from a third party ( they wouldn't comp. Me the 25 % they offered the other guest.. This get away was the biggest JOKE.. Wow I wonder if even checks out these places before offering them to others..??

Very good 8.0
Very nice property, great room, and service was very good. The only issue/s; water pressure in the shower was extremely limited and the heat was not working in the bathroom.

Loved Carter Estate!
Wonderful stay, beautiful property, large room that’s nicely designed, huge bathroom and comfy bed! Would definitely stay again (but bring earplugs because shared foyer door slams and is very noisy)

Felt like we were missing something...
We stayed a couple of nights here for a weekend getaway and were unimpressed at the overall experience. Some of this could have been covid-related. I haven't stayed here outside of covid, so not sure if it's just the nature of this place. We ventured into the tasting room once we dropped our bags and they were about an hour from closing. We thought it would be the perfect way to start our stay, but every employee let us know they were closing soon and seemed uninterested in hosting us; we shared one patio heater between three outdoor tables, freezing while we rushed through our wines. We couldn't leave fast enough (after paying $50 for that experience). Our stay came with free continental breakfast, and I think I should have lowered my expectations. Our "assorted breads" was pre-packaged sugary pastries and some melon on the side. There was no housekeeping service due to covid, but the room was tidy when we arrived. I thought it was really light on amenities - we couldn't find a pen/paper anywhere and bathroom amenities were your basic shower liquids. Again, could have been covid-related, but for a resort experience this was really pared back. The fitted sheet on our bed was torn, and the speakers on the TV were blown out. Overall it felt like this place needs some TLC and better attention to detail. To be in this competitive set in Temecula (Ponte Inn, even their other owned property South Coast) this property fell short to deliver that true resort experience.
