we paid 800 dollars for 2 rooms and stayed less than 2 hours. It was a freaky place and nobody in our party was comfortable staying. It was too weird and we left. Not a good place

    Rustic & charming

This is an old country lodge which hasn't been updated much so it is very rustic. Our bed wasn't terribly comfortable and we had to forgo showers because neither the heat nor the hot water worked very well. However, the setting was incredible-- right at the base of Mt Spokane it gave us easy access to all the nature we could want. And the home cooked breakfast was one of the best meals we had on our trip. On balance we had a wonderful stay here & would book again.

I was traveling with friends. We had an outstanding stay! The owners of the property spent several hours talking to us and telling the story of the Lodge and of themselves. Truly a unique experience that I will do again!!

Fantastic mountain stay yet close to Spokane, WA

Wow what a great find! Lodge was built in the late 1940’s and is in great shape. The owner, Sam, is very knowledgeable about the area Hiking and biking trails everywhere. This is a Washington state park so a fee is required but not to stay at the lodge. The rooms are quaint like a national park but clean and have everything you need. Tv in the lodge room and WiFi available but cell service is sketchy The food was unbelievable with farm fresh eggs for breakfast and fantastic sandwiches. Met people from all over the country. If your looking for a wonderful mountain experience this is it. The prices are well under what we would have paid for lodging and food elsewhere. At the end of the day we spent time on the deck and slept well with the open all night. This place will not disappoint!

Left a lot to be desired

The location is beautiful, and I wanted to love the hotel, however, it felt more like staying the night at Grandma's, without any of the warm hugs or reminiscing that usually makes it worth it. The building is very old, and has a lot of stairs with no elevator. The room, itself, has no fridge, no microwave, no cell service, no wifi, no TV, no AC, a TINY and very dated bathroom, grandma's lace curtains, and flimsy spring rods to hold them up- and I say that generously. If you try to open them, the rods will fall down. There was a building/shack out back that was lit up all night, so the whole room was lit up all night, too. My 2 year old woke up 4 times, asking me to turn off the light, and then he woke up for the day at 5 am, with the sun, thanks to those fancy lace curtains. Also, a simple task like opening the window (to offset the lack of AC @ night) requires lifting a huge, fragile, vintage window down from the window ledge, and leaning it against the wall. No joke. Not safe, at all, with a toddler running around. The beds were decent, the cleanliness was fairly good, but the staff was barely present at all when we stayed there. It was like playing hide and go seek to find someone when we tried to check in (at 5pm, and our room was "almost done being cleaned" for our arrival,) and check out consisted of a basket that said "leave keys here." Unfortunately, I cannot see the value in coming back to this location, especially at the $160 a night that we payed after fees/tax.

    Overnight stay

No TV, off the grid, very cozy and isolated. We would stay again because the price fit our budget.
