My husband (who is Italian) and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location, room, and amenities were excellent. It was a quiet location and the wellness center was incredible. Breakfast is very good, as well. The staff in the bar were very friendly, and prices were low. The food in the bar wasn't great, but edible. A beautiful setting!
The woman at the front desk was very unpleasant. When we arrived, we saw the small economy room we had been booked for and requested to pay for an upgraded room for the balcony if possible. She told us to go look at it before we paid, saying in Italian "Because I don't want to see you again." When we returned to tell her it was perfect, she was literally rolling her eyes at the front desk at customers calling on the phone. My husband made a strong effort to show his appreciation in a lighthearted way. She just glared at him. Strange, because we happily paid an extra €90+ for the upgrade and the entire floor was empty. Usually businesses don't mind upselling an empty room.
On the first morning, employees knocked on our door to tell us that our fridge was broken and to pick it up. They said they'd be bringing a new one later in the day. On day three, my husband went to the desk to inquire about the fridge. They looked at him like he was crazy, saying there's no way a broken fridge could be fixed so quickly. No offer of any comp or even an apology.
AC didn't work.
Overall not bad.
