5 Star Service Never Disappoints
Each time I stay in Santa Margherita Ligure I stay at Hotel Metropole and it never disappoints. It’s a gracious, restful property that offers superior service & a friendly staff. Located a few minutes down from the train station the property sits among lush landscaping and it own private seaside area. For my frazzled self, staying here in a room with a patio overlooking the gardens was a balm for my spirit. Reassuringly the hotel still strongly emphasizes cleanliness & observes Covid protocols. Food is top notch and prices were very reasonable for cocktails, snack & aperitivo. A special callout to Jun & Amedeo who were extra attentive to me at breakfast. I’m very much looking forward to returning in a few months.

Hotel metropole- Santa margherita 😕
Hotel was tired, but clean. Amenities were ok. Not sure it’s suited for solo travellers. Staff were mostly unfriendly. Asked for a quiet room, after looking annoyed, they put me in a room facing a v busy road, next to the housekeeping cupboard (on 1side) and lifts/stairs (on other) and under an active family I could hear clearly. I was told there was nothing they could do as the hotel was full- no apology, no effort to make it better. I would not stay there again.

was a very comfortable stay. I walked to the location and it is on a bit of an incline to get there and it was a bit misleading as far as where the entrance was. There we’re about 3 signs before you actually got to the hotel! Was very tiring. The hotel itself was really great. I got a single bed with a balcony on the top floor which is all I needed. The bathroom/shower is really outdated and that’s probably my only negative observation. Breakfast was included and you can even juice your own oranges for fresh juice. They have a separate pool / beach area that includes a chair. I would definitely recommend this hotel
