Excellent location and Extremely clean!
Excellent stay! Really close to restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to train station if you're planning on heading to Cinque Terre. Fabio was extremely friendly and helpful and our room was spotless. Highly recommend this spot!

Very modern hotel in ancient building
This hotel ticked all the boxes. We arranged to arrive after check out was closed and had no probs. there was a lift. The breakfast room and hotel room were really good. Breakfast good. A little noisy if the window was open but you get that in central locations

Unbelievably clean hotel in a great location
I've stayed in many, many hotels for work and leisure travel. This was the cleanest! You could perform surgery in the rooms. Everything was neat and tidy. I'm no clean freak, but I appreciated the attention to detail! The location is precisely midway between the docks and the train station and steps from the shopping district. However, you close the shutters and windows and it is totally quiet. The A/C is superb. We would not hesitate to use it again. One minor quibble. The breakfast is a bit modest, and like many hotels the staff put out cheese and ham. But the cheese was Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Bonbel Mini Cheese Wheels! There are a dozen cheese stalls in the market across the street! You are in ITALY! Why put out supermarket-style processed cheese food? A minor quibble, as I said. Great location, very comfortable.

Good "base station" for Cinque Terre
This actually an apartment converted to B&B. There is no signage, you have to locate it by the street & number. The frontage is just a barred gate, you have to press the intercom button for Urban Chic House to get the reception to remotely unlock the gate. The front desk is not 24/7, u have to inform them of your arrival time in advance. Once inside, the place is very modern & clean. The room was spacious, with strong wifi, good breakfast spread (fruit juice, coffee, cereals, fruits, pastries, yogurt, bread, ham. No eggs). Towels are changed only on alternate days. Toilet has hair dryer. Shampoo & shower gel come in sachets. Location is good, right in front of the Piazza Cavour food market. The room insulation was good, you hear no noise from the busy food market, and don't smell it too, until u step out of the building. It is midway between the train station and the marina. A good base station for visiting the Cinque Terre towns (train fare to the northern-most town, Monterosso, is only €2.70 one way). Good eateries around Urban Chic House, my favorite was All'Inferno. I would stay here again. Better than staying at one of the Cinque Terre towns which are too touristy, & u have to drag luggage uphill & downhill over cobblestone paths & steps.

Easy walk to train and ferry
Our reason for being in this area was to visit Cinque Terra. We had 3 nights at Urban Chic, which as a hotel, was very satisfactory, however we would have benefited more by staying at one of the towns in Cinque Terra. Going back and forth from La Spezia didn't lend itself to getting to know all the ins and outs of the walking tracks, trains and other things to do in the Cinque Terra area. It was disappointing that when buying a Day Pass to the area, that any other information, ie train schedule, walking track maps were not forthcoming.

Classic boutique hotel in the center of town
Very lovely boutique hotel. Close to everything. Very clean and Fabio and Patrizia were very helpful in recommending restaurants and various activities. Close to market. Extremely clean. Beds were okay a little firm. Loved our stay in LaSpezia

Clean little hotel right in the heart of La Spezia
Just there for one night. Friendly and helpful owners / managers. Room was perfect size and nice and clean. Bit difficult to locate as there's no foyer (it's on the second floor of a building) and the signage is quite small. Close to the train and a perfect base for Cinque Terra.

Chinque Terre Access
We used Urban Chic house as our base for a visit to Chinque Terre. It was easy to access by walking from the train station and within a comfortable walking distance to the ferry. Tucked away inside an old building you are quite surprised to find a super modern accommodation. Fabio and his wife were excellent hosts providing us with good information about restaurants and sights. We took their advice and found the most delicious meal at All'Inferno.

Spacious
Large rooms with space to store your suitcases without feeling crowded. Modern tasteful furnishings . A market is across the road but double glazing ensures there is no noise. Close to train station and town centre. Highly recommended.

Great Stay!
My wife and I had a great stay at Urban Chic House. It was a little challenging to check in because the house is on the third floor of a building and you have to ring the buzzer. We had to ring several times before the door was unlocked. Other than that the room was very nice, the staff answered any questions we had. And it was a great place to explore Cinque Terre

Center of action
Enjoyed our stay. Clearly staying La Spezia when visiting Cinque Terre is the best option. Saw so many traverls struggling with their bags attempting to get to the hotel.

Spend your money elsewhere!
This hotel was exactly like IKEA - very modern look and feel but low quality. Wifi didn't work from my room, cable tv didn't load any of the channels, breakfast was low quality, bed was absolutely awful, hard as a rock, pillows were lumpy. I was only here for one night and used La Spezia as a jumping off point for Cinque Terre but for how much I paid I expected much better. If I were to come back to La Spezia I would try somewhere else.

Great Gateway to Cinque Terre
We visited Cinque Terre in mid-November, and used La Spezia and Urban Chic House as our gateway. The proprietor was a lovely lady who gave us great dinner suggestions (the best pesto linguine I've ever had), and pointed us to Portovenere for more scenic sightseeing. The rooms were large and in good condition, very modern. My only complaint is that the lights in the building stairwell were very dim or non-existent at night. A big dangerous to maneuver down stairs at night.

Cool place, great location
It is truly urban chic, only 6 rooms and I'm guessing run by two or 3 people with a couple of contract room cleaners. Unique horizontal lines along the hall hide the 6 doors. Room was spacious, bathroom very nice. They ask you to check in by 2pm, but will accommodate if you're still on the road. The location is perfect. Short walk to the boats and to the trains. There's an open market directly across the street.

Adorable bed and breakfast!
We spent 1 night here in mid-August while we hiked Cinque Terre. The staff was very friendly and accommodating letting us keep our luggage before and after check-out so we could hike the nearby towns. It is a small building but beautifully decorated with marble throughout, glass tile in the bathroom, plenty of space, and a small balcony providing a city and mountain view. The breakfast was wonderful with meat, cheese, cereal, yogurt, and tasty pastries. I would love to stay here again!
