Handy to Hagley
Comfortable stay close to Hagley Park on Riccarton Road. I had asked for a quiet room away from the road, but was given one just beside it and was charged more for not getting what I wanted. Otherwise the rooms are spacious and well supplied, but can be noisy with traffic.

Mostly great, but traffic noise
We liked many things about this hotel, with only one negative. The manager, Hyzea (I'm sure I'm misspelling), was very helpful and friendly so many times when we asked for help. The close walk/run to Hagley Park/Botanic Garden, and several restaurants was a bonus. The room was spacious, the king bed was comfortable. The room was very clean and comfortable. Other employees at the hotel were also very friendly and welcoming. The only negative - and it was a big one for us - is our room faced Riccarton St. which was very noisy even late into the night. We left the bathroom fan on to mitigate some of the noise. I don't know if they can add a small white noise machine, or additional window panes, but anything would help. We also loved the Thai Orchid restaurant across the street from the hotel. It was so good, we went twice in one trip.

Nice and clean and service was friendly. Major issue was the traffic noise, windows on busy road side need replacing to reduce the noise from the road. Also bed was hard as a rock and woke up with pain in my back.

Rooms were great size, beds were very comfortable, great to have a decent size cup for your coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful . Would highly recommend, only thing rooms by Riccarton road are a little noisy with road traffic - maybe complimentary ear plugs :) Otherwise it was a great place to stay and would stay again
