Unique hotel experience. Vintage and quaint.
Amazing trip. Beautiful property. Hope to return someday.

Fabulous and restful stay
We had a fabulous stay! The hosts were super friendly and accomondating. The Taft room was cozy and my wife loved the window bench seat. We will definitely stay there again when in the area.

The rustic charm of a beautifully renovated New England barn, with spacious rooms that provide quiet solitude and comfortable furnishings, wall to wall! The king size bed, the oversized bathroom with a giant jetted tub beneath a skylight…SO INCREDIBLY PEACEFUL!! And outdoors there are numerous trails and Adirondack chairs placed at scenic spots to take in the beauty of the land in front of you and to enjoy the star filled wide-open sky above at night, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed! We can not wait to return to this New England paradise! ❤️

Thé property including interior was beautiful. My husband likened it to a museum. We both were impressed by the work done to turn this barn into great place to stay. We will recommend it and both want to return.

Beautiful Place, bring your own breakfast
Stay was great, facilitates and room were immaculate. The breakfast room had an electric annoying beep sound, and the breakfast should include other options. As simple as instant oat meal an peanut butter

We stayed in the 8-room converted barn. The room very large and a pleasant surprise featuring a great view, soaking tub in the living area, gas fireplace, and a very comfortable king bed. I would give Windham Hill Inn five stars, but I deducted a star because of a clogged bathroom sink, a difficult to control HVAC system, and live and dead bugs in the room. Although somewhat dated, the room was spectacular for the price.

A HIDDEN TREASURE in VERMONT
What a beautiful property. Historic renovated barn with very well appointed rooms. The well maintained grounds look out upon the Vermont mountains. Dubia and her husband are very friendly, and make sure that your stay is pleasant. Wonderful freshly cooked breakfast, including OJ, coffee, etc. we are returning on 10/16/23 for a couple more nights. Looking forward to another pleasant and relaxing stay, as well as the DELICIOUS BREAKFAST!

Cozy and quiet stay for a girls’ trip
We booked a room for a girls’ weekend getaway and it was just perfect. The room is so cozy and the view from our porch is stunning! There was no front desk and all check-in information was communicated via texts. The continental breakfast was less than satisfactory and the milk seemed to be a bit sour. Another downside is that the wifi connection is intermittent.

This property gave us the creeps from the moment we checked in. The attendant was not particularly welcoming. When we arrived at our room, a cottage on the property, someone ran outside from the other side and yelled at us to leave, telling us we were in the wrong place and that we needed to go back to registration. We should have left then. The TV was stuck on a raunchy pay-per-view porn site that it appeared someone had been trying to purchase. The cottage smelled old and musty. The people next door were out with flashlights making noise well after midnight, directly behind a room we were sitting in with no drapes. No blankets or comforters on the beds, just sheets and a flimsy coverlet. Leftover food in the fridge. When I went to complain in the morning, no one was around.

B&B with no breakfast (we get how this is these days, but we had no heads up about it and nowhere to eat nearby), uncomfortable bed, heat was up too high with no room controls (had to sleep with the windows open), room looked partially cleaned (found candy on the floor), fireplace in room didn't work, not that we needed it. Also if it's raining, you have to drive through, park in, and walk through really bad mud.

The Inn is very run down. I could see that back in the day it was very nice, but it hasn’t been kept up. There was a fire in one building and the rooms are in the barn. It was very creepy and dark. We immediately checked out and never received a refund. They offered a credit which would absolutely never use. It’s too bad. It has potential.

Charming, wonderful, but breakfast is questionable
Absolutely charming property. Quintessential Vermont. Room was large and extremely comfortable. Wonderful bathtub. Stunning views and property to walk. The only disappointment was breakfast. Coffee is on your own by a Kuerig machine, and breakfast is on paper plates, plastic cutlery, and orange juice in a red plastic solo cup. No syrup, butter, salt or pepper. Nothing made to order. We could hear the microwave door opening and closing to heat the breakfast up. Definitely not what you would expect from a property this wonderful.

Not what was advertised
This hotel is not as advertised in website which says there are three buildings and an award-winning restaurant on the property. There is no restaurant. Place is in the middle of nowhere, no cars in lot, saw only one employee, no real lobby, just a desk in a vestibule. We chose to leave for our own safety, and found another hotel for the night. We were not charged for the booking.

Be aware that this property does not have central AC. Our room was around 85 degrees when we arrived. The room does have a mobile single room AC but it couldn’t handle the volume of hot air in the space. The ceiling is at least 12 to 15 feet high so there’s a lot of volume of heat that had built up. It didn’t begin to cool down until daybreak. The setting was excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The peace and quiet was excellent.

There is no staff on the premises when you check in so they send a text message giving you instructions to where to find the key to your room. It is all kind of confusing at night when you have never been there to find your room. The room was nice and comfortable once we found it. Also there were no instructions on the breakfast that is served in the downstairs old barn so we kind of wandered around looking for this also. It was ok but not staffed so you get whatever is put out in the beginning and not replenished during the breakfast time period.

We were visiting friends in the area and there weren't a lot of hotel options. We were delighted to find this beautiful inn that had been closed for awhile after a fire that is just opening up to the public again. The manager, Duvia, was lovely and helpful. Our room, the Meadow Room, and the views from our window were breathtaking. The bed was comfortable. I slept like a rock! Breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes made to order) was delicious. West Townshend is a sweet town. We went to the lively Friday night pizza party at the community store and visited our friends who were staying at the lovely Taft Hill Farm, where some of their sheep had just had a litter of the cutest lambs. We also visited Brattleboro and some local galleries during VT open studios weekend. It was a magical weekend! We would definitely return to Windham Hill.

Last minute gem
We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. Overall the building, rooms, amenities and grounds were great!! Breakfast was wonderful! Very beautiful and peaceful stay. Our only temporary issue was that because of a glitch in another booking somewhere else, we had to find and book 2 nts just 1 hr before checking in. The cell service is very spotty in this area of Vermont, and because we booked last min, on the fly, we arrived to check in before we could receive instructions. (not knowing this was self serve entrance, with no one in the property). We actually drove away and when cell service kicked in 30 min later, we then knew how to get into building and returned. Once there we had Wi-Fi and no other issues. The web site should be updated, as it shows the original, big, beautiful Inn that burned 2 yrs ago. The restored barn building is the only building on property with very nice accommodations now. A little confusing when first arriving (especially with out check-in instructions, again spotty cell service in Vermont).

Unusual stay in VT
I thought this was a B&B when I booked. Unfortunately, only a cold continental breakfast was available. Staying here was a very weird experience. Our flight had been delayed so we arrived around 6:30pm. The instructions I was emailed said someone would be available until 8pm; however, there was no one there to greet us and no signs or notes on how to check in. There was no cell service to call the number on the booking, either. Fortunately, we met some other guests who helped us look for our room. However, the room names were not the same as the names on the booking details. We are still not sure if we stayed in the correct room! The guests told us the wi-fi password and helped us get settled. They had no idea when breakfast was so I gave them the information from my booking. To check out, my husband gave our key to the gentleman setting out the breakfast the next morning. The property was nice, but it was not appealing that we had NO contact with the property owner. It as a comfortable room, but if you need anything you are out of luck.
