    Love This Hotel

Great hotel that my wife and I really enjoy staying in. The bed was comfortable and the room had a great view of the mountains. Close to everything downtown and a quick walk to food and shopping.

Very nice hotel to stay hotel. Good location to shopping. Only thing is people bring the pizza to swimming pool to eat and food drop in to the pool. It looks very disgusting.

Never expected such an experience from Marriot

Humiliating experience by reception staff - Had specifically booked a room with city side view (as advertised on the site) - On checking in (around 11.30 PM - 2 daughters, my wife and self), was told that all such rooms were occupied - Was given a room on 3rd floor where some renovation was going on. The hall way looked spooky, the floor side boards were torn out - Went back to reception and asked them to honor the booking for room with city side view, or some other floor other than 3rd floor - Was told by reception staff that they didn’t have any city side view room, or any other room on other floors - Was also told that they cannot honor promises if booking was made using hotels.com or expedia.com or such - I asked whether this behavior had anything to do with my skin color, or the way I looked - At this time, the Manager came out of her room and within few seconds, the manager told me that a city side room was available - Was given a room on 4th floor with city side view - Very clear that they decided to not give me the booked room even though they had it available. The attitude was as if they can dump me into any hole and I will accept. First time am experiencing such behavior in US. Never expected from a hotel like Marriot.

Very nice, needs more training for staff

Overall the stay was nice, but the front desk staff were very untrained. When we checked out we asked if there were any extra charges to be handled and were told no, but I was charged two days later for parking and room service (that I had presumed was immediately charged to my account, as it showed up briefly on my pending charges in my account) I had been charged for two days of valet when it was only one as well. Mandy was kind enough to reverse the charge for one day, but to be told everything was taken care of when it had not been ended up putting my account overdrawn. The hotel itself is very classy, but in the end a little too fancy for our taste. We prefer to do things ourselves (like take our luggage to our car) but we’re told on our way back to return the luggage cart that we are not supposed to even use the buggy ourselves. Nothing wrong with the hotel itself, but staff definitely needs more education, as all the front desk staff seemed confused and flustered.

Basic room, parking fee, bad A/C

Average hotel room. The hotel is currently under construction so the front desk is a bit different. The stay was fine, we stayed here because of its proximity to an event we were attending. Nothing notable about the hotel on the positive side, nothing too negative but two things I would point out. 1) $20 parking a night for self-park or $25 for valet. (But Marriott always overcharges for parking) and 2) The A/C doesn't really function. It was too hot at night and this is when it was 50 degrees outside. The A/C would run, but it took several hours to cool down to a temperature I like to sleep in. Needless to say I did not get very much sleep.

Nice Hotel But Went At The Wrong Time

I picked this hotel because of the location, it had a restaurant & bar, and lobby area looked nice in the photos. I was very disappointed when I got there to see it was all under construction. They should have done that last year! I was set to write a bad review but the staff we very friendly and accommodating. I did end up enjoying my stay and would give this hotel another chance.

The property is under construction. Had I known that I would not have booked the rooms for our company and clients. Not a good option if you want people to feel like they are getting a good value or being put up in a nice place. I would have gone for a Super 8 over this experience.

    SLC Homeless Issues

Hotel is very nice. neighborhood is ridiculous you feel like your life is in jeopardy as soon as you leave the hotel property SLC needs to do something to help these homeless people out and get them off the streets, we were threatened to be beat up & called names that I can’t write in this review. It’s been getting worse year after year we go.

Learned about construction occurring at hotel the day before our stay. Wouldn’t have booked it if had known about construction in advance.
