OK the staff are nice, very nice, I can't fault them. Very friendly and helpful...however...
The pillows have to be the worst I have slept on in a long while at a hotel.. No choice of soft or hard here.. Just lumpy.
The wallpaper was coming off the wall above the bed. And the tray for the kettle, which actually is the kettle base, didn't have a cable long enough to reach the plug socket on the side of the room where it was placed.. So why bother putting it there? I had to relocate it to the desk on the other side.
Some of the curtain rings were off the curtain rail, as a result the room wasn't as dark as it might have been, and I do like a dark room..
Other than that it was fine... None of these things are big enough to put me off staying again.
The breakfast is better than the local competition, nicer surroundings and served until a more civilised time at the weekend.
And the staff were nice .. Did I mention that? Which I guess means that most of my criticism must land with the hotel company and not with the staff who are great.
So I'd stay there again.
Be aware that the whole area is undergoing major major infrastructure and building works at the moment, probably for another year. Getting around can be a bit long winded.. And they even give you ear plugs in the rooms in case it gets noisy.. See I told you.. Nice staff.
