Faro is unique. Lots of natural beauty. The city center has a very large pedestrian only area full of shops and restaurants. The marina had not one piece of trash or plastic. The water was clean and full of fish. The sunset was as good as it gets.

Faro is overlooked as people don't seem to stay here before heading out to other areas of the coast, but they're missing out. It is a small city, but very walkable with lots of nice bars and restaurants, and lots of available boat tours.

It was a good base to explore Algarve without a car, with easy access by ferry to Ria Formosa islands and beach. Not that much to visit in Faro itself but excellent restaurants. I also enjoyed the Faro free walking tour.

An often overlooked city which has everything you need for a simple city break. Really close to great beaches, fantastic seafood restaurants, some nice drinking places and wonderful architecture.

Faro is lovely. Grab a ferry to the beach. Walk through the old town. Grab a craft beer at Boheme bar in front of the marina.

Bit disappointed in Faro itself, nice for 2 days to walk around but views from marina out to sea, restricted due to railway line. Old town was lovely to walk around with fabulous views from Church clock tower. Good choice of eating places.

Wasn't sure what to expect, just had the afternoon/evening before a flight, and was pleasantly surprised, beautiful old town, relatively large. It was Saturday night, and there were many great looking restaurants, patios, and interesting places.

Faro could promote itself much more. There are some run down areas too that are crying out for investment. The locals are very friendly and the local restaurants have excellent food and the staff are very playful and fun.
"Clean, modem hotel with good sized rooms. Location was excellent, in the old town. Bus station was next to hotel but there was no noise or problems, rather it was a bonus for being able to get around. Included breakfast was generous with lots of variety on offer."
"We arrived into FAO late at night a needed a stop over. Very good location for the airport.
Clean, smart friendly place. And a welcome drink. Would definitely use again. "
