Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour

10/10 Excellent
"Best location! We walked everywhere! From the hotel to the Sydney Opera House and everywhere in between. And if you don’t want to walk any where, you don’t have to because a 5 minute walk takes you to the beautiful Darling Harbour. So many restaurants, shops and ice cream! Beautiful scenery with the water and yachts. Awesome playground for children too! The hotel has a delicious coffee and bakery shop in the lobby, a great restaurant and very helpful staff. Clean, large rooms. Comfortable beds. Couldn’t ask for more. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit."

"Rooms are clean and well-maintained with everything you need. Checking in and out are all done digitally on kiosks, and there is a very friendly and helpful staff there to assist if you have trouble. Convenient location and secure parking. Couldn't give five stars because there was a peculiar smell all throughout the building (thankfully not in the rooms) and because the sofa bed mattress was too thin and uncomfortable. 4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Sydney

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Sydney falls between May and July, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the city’s key historical and cultural landmarks, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. This timeframe allows visitors to experience Sydney’s iconic attractions, such as the Sydney Opera House, the bustling shopping districts, beautiful gardens, diverse art galleries, and fascinating museums. Additionally, visitors can enjoy scenic ferry rides and delightful dining experiences, making it a budget-friendly getaway that offers great value for money.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover great savings on hotels in Sydney, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay updated on flash sales and exclusive last-minute promotions, ensuring you don’t miss any opportunities to save. Additionally, utilise Smart Shopping , the app's comparison tool, to help you compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be among the first to know, making it easier to secure your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates may help you find a more favourable rate for your stay in a Sydney hotel. If you're in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that may lead you to a more advantageous rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Sydney's superb public transport options, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is frequently excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
