Places to Try: Better Buzzed Coffee, Smashburger, Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters (raw oysters were 10/10).The La Jolla beach was pretty. Parking -too long to find on a early Saturday evening but it was worth the wait to see the sea lions/seals.

Its a very clean and beautiful area to walk around. I noticed that by 6-7pm a handful of the stores in the shopping center were closed the majority were restaurants and food spots that were open. Not a party town. Relaxed and enjoyable

I also love La Jolla and the remake of the Contemporary Art Museum is totally excellent. We saw a fantastic exhibition. We also went on the Mural Tour which is also fantastic and you can do it while walking around La Jolla.

Lovely setting and pretty laid back for a tourist town. Very walkable with some good food choices. Be aware the walk along the beach really reeks with bird guano and seal, and sea lion scat.

Restaurants and drink prices are outrageous! Jose's, The Spot, and The Cove House are the most reasonable. But its all good! Love George's. La Valencia restaurant is NOT worth the extremely high prices for dinner. Great place to have a cocktail.

La Jolla is a quiet village type neighborhood in San Diego. Not really close to any of the tourist areas but very popular with locals and other San Diegans who flood the streets on the weekends.
"We have stayed here five different times and always have a great experience. The staff is kind, professional, and provide excellent service. The hotel is clean, quiet, and in a great location. I highly recommend!"
"Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. The hotel itself is a bit of a throwback, but don't let that fool you. The staff are really great and unpretentious, but dedicated to making your stay memorable. Location is excellent, right on the beach essentially. Walking distance to the small downtown of La Jolla Shores, which has several restaurants and bars and a couple of markets. We'd definitely stay again."
