Cockroaches
There was a major cockroach infestation. I thought I could deal with it for one night until one of them crawled across my face when I was laying in bed. I ended up sleeping in my car and got a full refund the very next day.

Mid City Motel
Room was sufficient. Microwave oven had filthy turntable tray. Wi-fi was almost non existent, very poor reception! When asked about Ice was advised that had some ice trays in managers fridge. Said, never mind.

may not stay again
Room was clean, but the outside needed a lot of work, and people were smoking, a lot of people if my wife was with me, we would not have stayed but was by myself and I'm a big guy, had no cups, all the room had was a small bar of soap and small shampoo, and the clock did not work the first night, but the gal got me a different one. very small air unit so it was not that cool.

I wanted a cheap place to sleep, and that's what I got. The check-in was a friendly experience, the a/c was on, and the room was nice and cool upon entering. So I got what I essentially needed. But the place is in rough condition. The billboard out front indicated weekly rate options, and you can tell that this is a long stay motel for some. The decor is largely untouched and in its original state, with wood paneling in the bedroom and 50s era pink tiling in the bathroom. There was a drawer missing from a chest of drawers. Some outlets and light fixtures did not work. There was a hole in the sheet, exposing the mattress. There were stickers on the mirror, some of which were partially removed in a half-hearted attempt, while some were left untouched. There was an in-wall kleenex tissue holder that had an empty box. The room was clean, but dark with the wood paneling and limited lighting, and I chose not to assess the cleanliness too closely. We stayed a second night in the area and opted for a different place to stay. But I got some sleep in an air-conditioned room, which was most important.

Room was dated, but clean. Plumbing was loose, and staff. Room is on second floor, and if pluming fixture breaks or loosens, it will cause serious damage to first floor room.

It was a nice spacious room. Very quaint, and unbothered with needless amenities. Great for the price!

The manager was friendly and helpful about local sights, restaurants and general sightseeing. The motel is dog-friendly and we were travelling with our dog. It is located in a pleasant neighborhood close to downtown restaurants and the Sault Locks.

The room was spacious - we were a little cold - did not realize the bathroom window was open - but we did eventually turn up the heat. We had to ask for shampoo The staff was very helpful and pleasant.

2/10 Poor

The motel needs to be closed to the public. I am so upset I woke up to bed bug bites all over my arms and shoulders. I didnt feel unsafe but the motel is old and run down and its not worth the 90 dollars. People live here and outside there rooms its bbq pits, old chairs and bikes. I will Never recommend this motel to anyone. The front desk ladies were very nice to me but its just a stuck in the 70's motel stay in the tourist are exit 392 on that strip. Dont put your health at risk to just save a few bucks.

2/10 Poor

Just don't
Let's just say that it should have come as no surprise that this was the absolute last hotel to have a room available for rent in a 100 mile radius. Pulling into the property you knew the prospects weren't just not good, they were nonexistent. The room assigned was on the 2nd floor. The railing wasn't safe. The 2nd floor causeway felt like it was going to give way at any moment. Then for the room...1950s original. Curtains so old they had pin holes from the sun burning them for 70 years. They were draped on the rods and were useless. The room was 61 degrees, window cracked to ease the smell, no blankets for the beds, and no hot water. The low that night was 34 so kicked on the heat - baseboard heat. It never worked and probably I was safer that it didn't work as the place might have burnt down. Bathroom had no toiletries. It also had an electric plug next to the sink from 1950 that wasn't GFI. Missing lightbulbs and open sockets was the impressive bathroom decor. Bed was short to the ground as I don't think it had any springs. If you wanted the alarm clock you would need to unplug one of the lights. I honestly don't know how the city hadn't yet red tagged / condemned the property. So if you are incredibly desperate and there is the choice of booking here or spending the night in your car, well, hopefully the seat belt isn't too much of a bother.
