Terrible Stay
I was very unhappy with my stay & I won't ever go back. No one took the time to check my room to see if it was ready & my t.v wasn't working nor was the phone. I was out of tissue. I had to look at 2 other rooms and I asked if I could get an discount since I wasn't staying in my original room. I was informed no, the next room wasn't better I was told that I could return to my original room day 2 but then we found bed bugs in the original room. I had to fight to get my full refund & find another hotel for my stay.

I know it's a cheap hotel, but it was the filthiest that have i have ever seen. There was blood on the wall, floor was gross, cigarette burns on everything, and syringes in the ceiling.

Shower curtain was hanging by one screw and dangling so I couldn’t close the curtain. Refrigerator had moldy food and old milk in it that had to of been there for weeks. Pool had recently cracked and leaked throughout the first floor and smelled from the carpets being drenched. There was still clothes and items under the bed from people prior to our visit. Top sheet on the bed had a hole from smoking and stains on it. It was disgusting the only thing besides Kelly who worked the front desk and was friendly and tried to accommodate as much as possible was the halfway decent pub inside the hotel. Food was mediocre but at least it was cleaner then the rest of the hotel.

Wedding at the Whaler Inn
Staff very helpful. The Inn is under renovation, so swimming pool unavailable. Wedding and reception at the Inn, all staff again very helpful and working to make things comfortable.

It smelled bad. The water stream for the sink was VERY thin. Could hardly wash my face properly. I paid an upgrade for this room. I can only imagine why they encouraged me to do that

Think twice.
Not sure I would ever stay again. At least not unless renovation was totally complete. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, alarm clock, didn't work. Cigarette butt under bed. Asked not to be put in West Wing because of the light during the night and shabby shades, no drapes. We were put there anyway. Beds seemed very small for a queen. Only 1 chair in the room for 3 people.

Clean beds/room Front desk & breakfast, sub-par
This hotel has potential to be a fairly nice one. It’s under renovation currently so I am taking that into consideration. My only real complaint about the room is there is poor water pressure in the shower and there is no bathroom vent/fan. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. No coffee maker in room. The “breakfast buffet” is a joke. The coffee was undrinkable. They had mini boxes of cereal. But no bowls. The front desk staff... holy hell. Checked in. Gave me keys to occupied room. Then when I asked for extra pillows, I was told they don’t have keys to housekeeping. My second night. My key card let me in back door. But would work on room door. Went to front desk and nobody to found. Had to get bartender from restaurant to go find personal. So in all told. Want a clean bed. That’s what you’ll get. But don’t expect much else.

The sink had cigarette ashes in it. The people around the hotel looked very suspicious. I didn’t feel safe at all.

The place has been upgrading, so it stands to reason, that more needs to be done. The "breakfast" offering was minimal but good coffee
