Great price, clean and comfortable family rooms!
This pub hotel is a great stop over for the family for the Mackay to Brisbane drive. Price was good, family room was huge, clean and felt like sleeping in a great big Queenslander. Female toilets and showers are refurbished and looking fresh. Pub directly downstairs provided a good meal with Pizza and huge pub meals available. The beer on tap was cold and the outdoor playground was loved by my kids. Stayed here twice now on our adventure to brisbane and back. Also a great coffee shop just down the road in gin gin with toasties & ok coffee for the morning.

the accomodation was clean and tidy and well organised, until a family came the same night, and didn't respect others privacy, plus letting their alarm ring on for 10 mins at 6 am waking everybody else, who wished to sleep in.

2/10 Poor

The main problem is the noise, even with earplugs the noise from the road outside was terrible, making it near impossible to sleep to recoup from the drive. You need to park your vehicle on the street if you want to leave before 10am. The shared bathroom was very inconvenient and had a dodgy light, so all business required a torch. The bed was overly firm and to just fill your kettle required a hike to the other end of the property to access the kitchen. The 112 dollars to stay was overpriced since i got a much better accommodation in Rockhamptom for 90 with all facilities in the room and very quiet. I unfortunately chose this accommodation as it was the only one available around the area for a reasonable price, but i could not recommend it to anyone. I will never stay there again.

Big misunderstanding I think.
This was absolute a big mistake. I however do not acuse the motel for the error. They had no Idea that I was arriving, no room was reserved (however I got the last room). They had not received notification from Hotels.com that I was arriving, no prize was given, however I could demonstrate the prize published online at Hotel.coms webpage and they only charged me that. The room was up under the roof, it was hot days, but the aircon had no problems cooling it down. BUT, there was as the enclosed pictures shows, a bed, a tv, no lamps apart from the one in the sealing, one bar chair which I moved next to the bed once I went to bed, no bed table, no hangers in the room, absolutely nothing. It was 2 shared bathrooms for about 14 rooms, and you dropped your travel in a plastic basket once finished, no table space in the bathroom, absolutely appalling and not up to standard at all. Alternatively I would have had to sleep in the car. But the very nice people did what they could to help me, so I am not accusing them at all. The food in the restaurant was great, great atmosphere, but not what I would expect. I would anytime pass by for a meal, but to sleep there, never. Should it have been another place in the same town, who knows, mistakes happens.

Good clean friendly old pub style accomodation. Right on highway the front rooms get some road noise from trucks going by.

Classic old style Australian pub hotel.
This is an old style Australian "rooms above a pub" hotel so its a different experience from a regular hotel. It has more of a communal vibe about it. There is a shared bathroom and small kitchen at the end of the hall for meals. The food at the pub is great and good portions and there is a playground next to the eating area for the kids which is fenced in. Theres a big beer garden out the back of the pub. The facilities are clean and beds comfy and yiu can help yourself to free cereal and toast with spread in the kitchen for breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Book the rooms on the back side if you aren't a fan of road noise as its right on the bruce highway and the trucks are loud. Overall a nice stay.
