High Rating is Misleading
I had to change my dates for this trip, when I arrived the owner (who is hard of hearing) informed me that I had cancelled my whole stay. I tried to show him my reservation but he was not having it. In the end I was offered my room, but it was a little bit of a struggle in communication. I was in a double room, it was small but worked for me. The bed was uncomfortable and I am not sure the last time the pillows have been replaced. Since it is an old house you can hear EVERYTHING. The rooms are in the front of the building so you can hear the cars/trucks all night long. The building was set to 80 and the window AC unit, while new, could not cool the room down and was also loud. The wifi (passcode is gold1234) does not reach into the rooms, so I was not able to work at all while at the hotel. Even sitting in the weird nook that is right above the router didn't help. This is also right outside of the owners room. Breakfast isn't served until 8:30am so if you need to be out before that you will not be offered anything. I saw in other reviews that people were offered to go muffins, but that was not the case for me. I chose this place for the reviews it had, but it didn't work for me. My room also had minor storage in it, the areas that the owner lives in are cluttered, with papers. It just wasn't what I was expecting for all the great reviews it does have.

I have been staying at the inn once or twice a year with family and friends for over 10 years, and have always had a wonderful time. The character of the building, spacious rooms, delicious breakfast elegantly served, all make for a wonderful stay. Innkeeper Mr. Ripley and his staff are very friendly and hospitable. I would highly recommend this place for a cozy weekend or week in lovely Ebensburg.

Exceeded my expectations
The Noon-Collins met my expectations of a genuine historical building. It is well preserved and maintained in the public areas and the room we had. The owner was friendly and staff was as well.

Over many years of staying at the Noon Collins, my family and I have formed an emotional bond with the inn and the Ripleys. The late Jeannette Ripley was one of those ladies you meet very rarely. A lovely, caring person, excellent cook and innkeeper. Her husband, Lewis, maintains the high standards she set with the help of Amy and Danielle. The building is everything you seek out a vintage bed and breakfast for. Wood, stone, antique furniture. This is a history lover's delight. Our special place in Ebensburg, PA.

The uniqueness of it and its history. The breakfasts served were excellent and varied. What I didn’t like was lack of ceiling fan for air circulation.

When staying at a historic inn or hotel, I want to see some history. My husband and I enjoyed reading the old news clippings and historic details on the walls. The room, furnished with antiques, was very clean; nothing was sticky and the only noticeable dust was on the TV stand. Breakfast was in a pretty dining room. They accommodated our toddler by giving her cushions to sit on, milk in a child-sized cup, and a straw.

The gentleman who owns this Inn is very delightful. This is an inn that had bathrooms added. This sink is in the main bedroom. Breakfast was fine, not my taste but the hostess set a nice table. Everything is clean but somewhat dated. I would stay again if we visited again.

Room number 7 is very big and met our needs entirely. I only wish I could have adapted the room temperatureto our needs. I did not try to open the windows. I was afraid to try to open the windows, since it's a very old property, but I wish I could have had some fresh air. A wonderful large bar of lavender soap was in the room, and it helped to scent the room. Also a very cute dish of chocolates was waiting for us. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to the owner Mr. Ropley, and the two cooks/ housekeepers Amy and Danielle. The breakfast was wonderfull, freshly cooked, served hot, and was a different breakfast everyday. The Inn was located within 7 to 15 miles of every place we wanted to go to. It doesn't have a very attractive walkway to the back entrance, but do not let that make you think the establishment isn't charming because it is very charming. Additionally, if you like wine tasting you might try Germantown Winery on Frankstown Road, Portage, PA. A vintage gift shop called Chatterbox in Portage, and a local restaurant/bar called The Boxcar in Lily, PA
