Lovely resort, just needs some tweaks
Overall, loved the resort & the fact that it was adults only & smaller & quieter. Pool was fantastic & stays open till 8pm which was appreciated & there were plenty of lounge chairs. The beach is small but nice and clean & a close walk from the hotel. No pressure to partake in the activities but they were limited, repetitious & largely in the early part of the day. Great bars where the bartenders are not shy with the alcohol. The Italian restaurant was just so-so but the seafood restaurant was excellent. Buffet food, while plentiful, was largely mediocre except for the pizza and pastries, which were delicious. Could definitely use more vegetables and food could be more seasoned. Also would be nice to have more authentic Dominican cuisine. The buffet staff was very good with a special shout out to the servers, especially Yordelisa who was so sweet. The hotel room was good overall & the bed comfortable. But there was only one chair in the room & no table, more seating is needed. The bathroom was spacious but there was only hot water in the shower in the morning & it could have used more towels. The fridge was barely cold with no freezer section & there are no ice machines around the hotel. Espresso machine with little capsules was helpful. Patio was nice as was the plunge pool but the jets get turned off by 10pm and there were these centipede-like worms in it sometimes. Would stay there again, but hope they take to heart these suggestions for improvements.

Love the Viva V Samana
Beautiful bungalow room, better food than I expected from other reviews. Beautiful grounds and beach. Easy check in, check out. Low key adult resort, walkable compared to the huge Punta Cana resorts. Las Terrenas is beautiful and deserves a visit if you love the DR like us. No complaints. Will definetely visit again, but there are so many more places in the DR we have to visit. And the beach walks during twilight are magical.

This property offered an amazing beach location, excellent service by all staff, from check-in to checkout. Housekeeping is excellent, and the dining staff was excellent as well. However, the food was not good at all, although there’s variety, it’s not good. The drinks were not good at all, all watered down tremendously. Moreover, entertainment is very limited considering it’s an all adults resort, although the entertainment staff did great the few shows available. Lastly, the day of our arrival there was construction going on, on bungalows next to mine, with debris everywhere as we were walking towards our bungalows, I expressed our dissatisfaction to a guests service agent that same day, moreover, the next morning at 7:30am, I was awaken to banging from the construction and again as I walked out of my bungalow there was debris everywhere. For those reason I will not be returning to this property, and have to rate it 3 stars only.

Second time here and without hesitation what I like the most of this property is the entertainment team. They truly make you feel like family. I'll go back time and time again because of them. Service it's the second best. Everyone you talk to have a smile on their face 24/7 even when they look tired. Two things I didn't like this time was our room was on the second floor and my mom is an elderly woman so that was an inconvenient but I didn't asked to be moved and the other thing was with the housekeeping. When we got to the room we only had 2 big towels so I went to the front desk to ask for more and same thing with bottled water. Almost everyday I was calling or going to reception to request water. Besides that I reassure I love this place and I'll be back soon. My personal thanks to Luis Enrique (bartender) Leo, Ariel, Chocolate, Connie, Federica, Wagner and Jeremy, you guys are simply the best!

The hotel is very nice but the service is terrible. All around the bartenders, servers and front desk. It’s all inclusive but the food is terrible at the Buffett and restaurants and drinks are low end, they don’t have mid shelve drinks, they are all low end we couldn’t drink what we like and got stuck with low end rum and coke the whole trip. THE ONLY PERSON WE FOUND THAT WAS AMAZING WAS AMID. He should be the general manager there. He was the only person with a great attitude and proactive, knowledgeable and followed up on everything. He was the best

So I would like to start off with letting you know the staff was great and the location was beautiful. I did love walking on the beach and the large pool. The one thing I did not like was the food. My guest and I did not enjoy the food at if to be honest it was pretty bad. It was a shame because it really did take away from my vacation as food is a major part of the resort experience. Also, this would be more of a suggestion. I believe that there should be a bar by the pool or in the pool which would improvw the experience of the guest as they would have more convenient access to alcohol as opposed to requesting a staff member to get it or getting out the pool and getting it yourself which would become an inconvenience.
