Nice Historic Hotel.
Breakfast menu and food were very good. Keurig coffee makers in each room would be a nice amenity. Very strong deodorizer smell in room (almost nauseating).

Perfect Getaway
The first thing we noticed was how beautiful the place is as we drove up the driveway. We arrived a bit late and the clerk got us checked in knowing we were worn out from the trip. The room was wonderful and bed was extremely comfortable. The other thing i need to mention is the restaurant in the basement which was a speakeasy. The food was absolutely second to none. We found a hidden gem and will be returning in the future!

Perfect place for a short stay to experience all the Shenendoah area! The rooms are super cute, the history of the hotel is pretty fascinating and the restaurants aren’t too bad either! Definitely a must stay over if you’re in the area!

4/10 Fair

The lobby area is nice looking. However, if you book through a third party, front desk staff will make certain to bring it up during every encounter. We wouldn’t have found this property without the third party booking site. The upper levels had a stale smell and when we got into our room on the second floor it smelled terribly of mildew. We had to make sure we kept our bags closed to prevent the smell from seeping into our items. The bathroom does not have a fan which only worsens the dampness. The room was not supplied with any disposable cups only glass. The mattress was comfortable but the sheets were scratchy and pillows lumpy. For the price and the “historical fee” we were charged at check in, this place is not worth it. We were informed at check in that most of the restaurants in the area close at 8 pm and it was heavily suggested we eat at the Speakeasy in the basement of the hotel. Don’t be deterred and look for outside options. We found plenty still open at 7:45 pm.

Beautiful Historical Hotel of America! We had visited many times and enjoyed eating in the Speakeasy and seeing the beautiful decor and staircase. This was our first time staying in one of the Historical Rooms. It was very comfortable and quiet. Would love to return for another stay in the future.

I was only there for one night, but the hotel and staff were great. Speakeasy bar and restaurant was great as was the food and service. I was there on a Wednesday Night when they had $5 glasses of wine which made my one night stay even better. Would definitely it’s Y stay there again. Don Schroeder

I stayed in a historic room so it was on the smaller side and amenities are minimal in the room. Overall the hotel is lovely. It is clean and the staff is wonderful. The restaurant in the hotel had good food and the staff there was great too.
