Meh!
pros: great location, clean-enough room Cons: building is gross and smelly, 0 human interaction/service, bed is not comfortable

Access from street was bad. Address was not clear from the entry and the same address in adjacent storefront. Then the access to the room through several poorly marked doors was confusing. Once I got to the room all was OK for price range.

This is not a Hotel. There is no one on site, no lobby, no services. It is a collection of individually locked rooms in 3 story walk-up building. Loud window A/C unit, small double bed. Location was great.

Catfish Hotel
The entrance looked sketchy. The smell of cigarettes and body order hits you as soon as you walk in. Apparently this isn't even a hotel, no visible staff. Pictures make it look like it's $240+ a night but the actual room felt more like $100 per night, tops. Me and my boyfriend left less than four hours after checking in because we were uncomfortable.

The room itself was lovely: clean, nicely decorated, comfortable bed. Nice amenities: coffee and bottled water. The bathroom was very nice, with high quality fixtures. My only negative is that I didn't realize I'd be hauling my suitcase up three flights of stairs.

If you have any mobility issues whatsoever, this cannot be the place for you. A very old building they are trying to make charming. They have a lot of work to do. Good for 20-25 year olds that need a place to crash.

Room was nice. Right on Main Street. A little warning. This is a converted apartment house, the Lobby is up one floor from the street and then the units start on the next floor. So our unit was on the third floor, which meant it was a four floor walk up. My wife has a bad knee and it was more than she could handle. There was no working in unit control for the air conditioning. There was coffee, but no cream or sugar. Clark's, the restaurant downstairs, doesn't open until lunch. There is, within 2 blocks, a great diner. If the walk up is not an issue, then I would recommend this place.

very bad service!
I booked through hotels.com for an anniversary. A few days after payment, I got several emails from the "hotel" stating "outstanding payment," so I couldn't get check-in information. Over three days, I called the number the email provided six times. No one ever answered. I left two voicemails. No one ever responded. I left two emails. Of course, no one responded. I wasn't sure what was happening, but I knew I paid. Hotels.com confirmed it, as well as my bank statement. When my husband and I got to Beacon Hotel (which it wasn't called on the building), there was no way to get in. I tried calling the "hotel" again. No answer. Luckily, a cleaning lady for the building was leaving as we were trying to get in. She was able to contact someone who owned the building (maybe by calling a personal number and not the number listed on the website). My husband and I got into our room with her help (and her AMAZING help alone). If we hadn't run into her at the exact moment she was leaving, we wouldn't have been able to get into the "hotel," and our anniversary would have been ruined. It's disappointing for this "hotel" not to have any way to contact them! I will NEVER stay here again!

Excellent stay
My husband and I stayed enjoyed our stay at the Beacon Hotel. Our room was perfect, we loved the decor, the amenities and all the little things (cream, q-tips…) they left in the room in case you needed them. I would definitely recommend to others and we will definitely visit again.

I knew that the it was not a normal hotel. I was ok with that. The hallway was dirty and smelly. The room itself was clean and had a refurbished bathroom. The fridge was great and they even left me some bottles of water. The building is in a construction zone. I stayed there two nights. The first night I was awaken to drilling at 5:30am. The second morning they waited til 8 to drill.

Definitely a don’t judge a book by its cover moment. Entry into the building and room had no issues, but it was not quite the vibes I was expecting. The minute I stepped into the room though all was good and looked exactly like the photos. Great location and the amenities suited my trip.

This more on an air b and b then hotel. The location is amazing since it is right on Main St. It was perfect for a place to crash during out brief getaway to Beacon and the price was right. No one on site, questions had to be emailed but the staff who responds is very nice.

Disappointing accommodations.
The Beacon Hotel was not a hotel. There was no check in, lobby or common area. It is an old apartment building which is being converted to hotel units. There was no contact person in the building. My husband and I are both in our seventies, and we had to climb a full flight of old wooden stairs each time we went in and out of our room. To report a problem, we called a number and left a message. Then we waited for someone to call back. The room was comfortable and clean.

2/10 Poor

Weird entrance with a terrible stench, between humidity and cigarette, completely out of sync with the price charged for the property. Broken lights, only partially fixed for the second night. A panty liner wrapper left into the bathroom. No phone number to call to contact anyone at all (had to Google it). Frankly a disaster, I can only recommend to stay away from it despite the excellent location. Bathroom had accessibility bars everywhere - yet it would be entirely impossible to go up the stairs, enter the room and cross the room corridor with a wheelchair.
