This property has been great for two stays now and the staff is awesome! The construction is kind of distracting, but the progress is good. I was a bit disappointed that they are removing the gas fireplaces during room updates, but I do understand the safety aspect. This is definitely a property that embraces the past era it represents and in that way creates it’s charm.

Gem with a view
We spent 3 nights at this charming older property. The Mizzentop building only has rooms facing the harbor and a direct view of Bar Island and the Porcupines. The Great Room has its own bartender and there was a piano player for entertainment every night. Cute gift shop in the lobby and multiple coffee stations. Never got to the indoor pool/hot tub but wish we had.

Acceptable Room, Horrible Resturant
The hotel part of the Bluenose Inn was a perfectly acceptable place. It is dated, but pleasant. The view from our room was wonderful, the bed wasn't the best, but not horrible. The place was very clean. The whole vibe is very 1960s....but that isn't bad. The horrible part of the stay was the restaurant. Truly some of the worst food I have ever had anywhere. Burnt coffee, inedible oatmeal (how do you ruin oatmeal???), bad service. I don't know if it was just a day that the cook didn't show up to work....or if this was their norm. I didn't try it a second time.

This is a classic hotel with great views, excellent staff support and stones throw to downtown. We really enjoyed our 4 nights there and would stay there again.

The rooms are spacious with lovely design. There was a sitting area with a fireplace. The large bathroom had two sinks. The breakfast at the Looking Glass was delicious. There was piano entertainment in the lounge. And the location is very close to the village and the national park.

Space!!!
It was great! Lots of room, everything worked, away from the fray but close enough to easily get there. After many charming B and B’s we were craving space! Totally comfortable!!!

Our room was comfortable and quiet with a great view from our balcony. We really enjoyed the piano player (Bill). The pool and other amenities were great! We like to walk, but the return up the darkened drive at night was challenging (we altered our schedule after the first experience so that we would return at dusk or earlier). We realize that there is bus service, but again, we prefer to walk if possible.

The Bluenose Inn was wonderful…clean, comfortable, beautiful view, extremely nice staff. Staying there was such a treat! Also, our room was large with a fireplace, couch, two chairs, double sinks in the bathroom, fridge, microwave, a Keurig, two comfy bathrobes and large closet. This is opposite of the current trend in hotels. Another sweet treat was Coffee 24-7!! We will definitely come back and recommend to our friends😍

old world elegance in Bar Harbor
Very nice property close to the main action areas of Bar Harbor. Stayed in a 3rd floor King suite . The lobby was very spacious, élégant and has a bar and a skilled pianist at night. 24 hour self serve coffee in the lobby. The property looks better in person to me than the photos. Decor is old school charm ( think Queen Anne with floral curtain s, ). The elevators and hallways have art and photos on the walls and glass mini chandelier lights. The room was clean, very large with Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave. large dual sink vanity stocked with lots of toiletries and great smelling bars of soap. The toilet and shower are in a room separate from the vanity area. large king bed, 2 night stands, nice short chest of drawers. Large flat screen tv. plenty of HOT WATER and good water pressure. small desk and chair. The other part of the room , the sitting area, features a 2 person couch, coffee table, end table, extra chair and a very nice MASSAGE CHAIR( GREAT FEATURE). There is a large, gas fireplace which puts our great heat. Large balcony with a terrific few of the bay , islands and boats. The A/C is a window unit that is effective and adjustable though a bit loud. Nice breakfast restaurant in a différent building. There is a gym, indoor pool and steam room in a dedicated building. Overall a GREAT STAY. my major wish would be an electronic lock system instead of the old fashioned metal key. View from breakfast room.was awesome.lunch service would be nice
