This hotel was centrally located. It's directly across a small park/square from the Chateau Frontenac and the Dufferin Terrace/St. Lawrence River can be seen one block down the hill. You can walk to numerous restaurants and shops on the Rue Saint-Jean. The hotel was very clean and the staff kind during my check-in. Be aware since this is an historic building, more of a B&B type feel, you get some wearing on the property. The wall paper was peeling from the walls of my bathroom in a couple of places and the floor in my room was uneven, sloping downward due to settling of the structure over time. The fixtures were dated, but in good working condition. Though dated, the room was charming and had a warm feeling. My one concern was due to the old nature of the building, there was no deadbolt lock or extra security mechanisms on my room door. As a trauma survivor, this was the first thing I noticed about my room and thus, I slept at night with furniture stacked against the room door. The door lock could be easily picked with a paper clip and at least if someone tried to break in while sleeping, I hoped the noise from the furniture would wake me. If safety and security are important for you, I'd recommend a different hotel for this reason. Also, the room walls are very thin at this hotel and I could hear the man in the room next door's entire hour long business conversation with swear words included! Overall, a nice and "safe" place to stay.

It is a unique period hotel. Like stepping g back in time. Loved the entire experience staff was friend and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. It is so close to everything Literally 5 mins to shops restaurants and touring around You are in the heart of Old Quebec Bruce & Louisa

Good location but uncomfortable for us
Clean but old. No ammenities! Reception hours were 9:30-7:00pm but twice they left at 6:00 pm which gave us problems. Staff did make a special trip to help us get into the office where some of our property was stored. Do not stay here if you have mobility problems. Also the heater/AC did not work. Room was stuffy and cold. The TV is streaming only on Pluto. It is a tiny TV screen. Hallway smelled of incense. Furniture was old and ready for Goodwill. No outlet by the mirror for fixing my hair or shaving. King bed was very firm. It is a good location but I would choose a different hotel next time.

Location is close to St. Lawrence River, Château Frontenac and other attractions. Food places are a couple of blocks away and uphill walk on the way back. Our room on the ground floor was small but had all the conveniences. We found the internet to be very slow. Overall, a good place to stay.

The hotel is very convenient to everything in Quebec City. It’s clean quiet. Suzanne communicated by email and answered every question I had. She sent detailed instructions about how to check in, greeted us kindly when we arrived and kept our luggage for us so we could continue to explore the city after checking out.
